Quantum of Solace- reviews, questions, comments ect...
007 Quantum of Solace(Spoilers)
Posted by Senor Hugo Sat Nov 15, 2008 10:14 am
The movie started off right in the midst of action, which was nice to see, no build-up, just a full blown car-chase bullets flying.
The effects could have used a bit of tweaking, with Craig's first film there wasn't much of a reliance on CG, in Quantum however, for a good number of the fight scenes, especially within the first 10-15 minutes there was a reliance on cg, and you could tell, it wasn't the quick bits of cgi that made you wonder, it was pretty tell-tale for the short time the cg was on screen.
But it worked.
Honestly, I don't have anything really bad to say about the film, it was just as good as Craig's first outing as Bond, and I hope he keeps the movies coming.
Edit: Also they had a trailer for the new Trek film, it looks badass.

I thought Craig did a really good job as Bond, you can slowly see this Bond's progression into the suave Bond we all know, again slowly, but it's there.
Especially the last couple minutes of the movie, he really showed that he was turning into that Bond.

What was it the bad guy was doing that was so evil? Who was the bad guys? Where was this river underwater leading to? Why is Micheal Bay directing the action scenes? Who was that russian chick again?

Quantum of Solace was so...boring there was just three points of music at begining middle and end and that was it. There was no James Bond Theme music just action sequnces after action sequince. I was confused as to who was doing what?

well he was stealing water which is a very limited resource giving him control of Boliva. The bad guys are called Quantom and the russian girl actually plays a hispanic woman named Camille.

I was disappointed right off that there was no TF2 trailer, but I didn't really expect there to be one anyway. The Star Trek trailer did look good, and got me excited for a Star Trek movie for the first time since very early childhood.
I really think Daniel Craig does the best Bond. A lot more muscular/less finesse, but still very smart, and sure. I am always impressed by his lack of fatigue after running and jumping for a hard to measure amount of time and distance.
So was Vespa's old Bf/husband a member of Quantum? Is he purposely seducing female agents, and femmes of power to implement putting their agents into the systems?

Also, fun fact: For "On her Majesy's Secret Service," Bond was originally going to be played by Adam West. See how long you can think of that without laughing.

JaAm wrote:Personally, I hated the first chase scene. They moved too fast, and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Some shots were only a few frames long, and the cars all looked alike. Other than that, however, the entire movie rocked. Craig is my second favorite bond.(Connery will always be #1, since he put bond on the map.)

Well, he and Roger Moore look/ed very similar, so I could possibly see him doing it, but I think all the POWs, Biffs, and so forth, might ruin the feeling of the movie just a bit.
I do agree some of the jittery-ness of the camera, and fast movements made parts hard to follow. I suppose in that case, it was probably honoring Michael Bay.

There were a lot of FORDs in this movie. You never know what the next one could have.
He tried to take a vacation of sorts in the first one... Got a woman killed as per Bond's usual MO.

The movie lacks certain elements. Q for instance. Its always fun to see him and his gadgets. Though i guess its kind of hard to incorporate him into a movie with such a serious tone to it.
And despite the seriousness, Judy Dench, M managed to get some laughter form the audience in the theater with the "Don't kill every lead we have" bit.
Also I wanted to see more gadgets from the car. And as someone said the chase was a little confusing.
However I did like the small homage to Goldfinger. Though instead of gold the pretty girl is covered in oil.
Still all in all not a bad movie but not a typical Bond movie.

yes he's a member of Quantom his job is to suduce women who are in charge of money for the government like Vesper and the Canandian chick who worked for the canadian government, and then fake a kidnapping and ransome them.
