Question about the Matrix of Leadership in the comics
Question about the Matrix of Leadership in the comics

But the one that bothers me the most is how inconsistent the idea of the Matrix of Leadership is, even in Roberts' own writing.
My idea of the matrix, from the shows, is that it is super powerful and can give its bearer strength. And it can also be used as a weapon, if wielded by the right person (oh ****, I might have answered my own question). And then we get to the comics where:
In All Hail Megatron, it seems like its a big deal the Decepticons got it off Pime's chest, but they dont use it and nothing is made of it (do we see Optimus get it back?)
In Lost Light, its much more of an artifact. Not powerful, but meaningful and ancient, plus it contains a map. This version works with the later reveal that the more mythical aspect of Cybertronian lore is just myth afterall (probably)
But then I read that chaos 2 parter where Optimus asks Hot Rod about how it felt when he connected with the Matrix and there is definitely something there to it. With different people experiencing a connection differently.
And then we see that connection in Autocracy where the matrix definitely has a power to itself. And immense power, rebuilding Prime and giving him strength (ala G1 cartoon lore).
So like what is it? How powerful is the Matrix? Am I the only one who finds it inconsistent?

Always Guilty..."
All Hail Megatron was a soft reboot, so any "insight" gained within it only really has any bearing on that story and later the Ongoing that followed it.
The Primacy Trilogy was prequels made to cater to latter continuity IE MTMTE/RiD.
There is no consistency to things such as the Matrix because the tone and mandate was changed at least three times throughout IDWverse publication history.
1)Furman's ongoing narrative from Megatron: Origin to Spotlight: Sideswipe.
2)All Hail Megatron to CHAOS.
3)DOoP to present day.
The best you can do is to define the consistencies and rules per volume, as opposed to those shared throughout the IDWverse.
