I don't anything special should be done. All the veterans know each other, mostly. As long as all the veterans recogonize one another and just know. If higher ups wants to hand out metals to display on our post or give us bonuses, I'm all for that.
I also agree with what Kryptikore said. Just look at the join date.

I agree with Psychout here - anyone who was in V1 is a Veteran no matter how much action they saw. If you served you got the status and there's no sensible way to define an "experienced veteran" other than they'll probably be among the to be first kicking serious aft in V2.
Though I wouldn't mind it if there were a very few select "awards" for what you can define as distinct achievements in V1, say, the top 5 longest playing members and the Top 5 most xp per team.
