A guy I work with had a nice idea for us kitbashers. Why don't we make Optimus a bad guy and Megs a good guy? We would have to nicen Megatron up and make Optimus pissed off looking. Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions in how we might accomplish this Reverse Universe? It would work on the entire G1 crew. Maybe as simple as switching the color schemes.

prime as evil G1 switch to long nose pete. with cattle guard.
Alt prime head is more on the evil side than most. and so have him with the fusion cannon " exaust pipes" on his arm like an episode from season 2 when he put megs on. al;so in season 2 there was an episode where the decepticons pretended to be the good guys and it was the evil autobots who made it apear they where evil.

trust me id love to it sounds like fun but with my alt predaking and 20 or so others in the works and ive got a 1/24 scale pete with cattle catcher too.

but the idea of megs as a samuri you would need to come up with an alt to fit. i was thinking military like a tank. nothing fancy or over the top, something simple to show hes just one of his team. so not as much bulk as overlords WW megs but megs not being distructive just cant happen.

although this troop transport might work out better. giving him that hero edge as he powerslides in to evac humans from a hot zone.

just remove horns, flowers and flags and there you go evil prime

Keep the ideas rolling guys. It sounds great already. Does anyone have one of those KO Alternators of A Sport Bike or the Big Rig. I know I've seen them around. I have not seen them on EBay recently though. I would buy or trade. I want to get started on this thing soon. Speaking of other things in the works have you checked out my Unicron Bash?

id get a knockoff prime and a semi model or cheap toy like i got for the trailer. then just mod from there with the nose becoming the back and the grill/cc turned upside down for the chest.
and the biggest switch, ironhide and starscream. starscream loyal and ironhide wishing to overthrow prime. :twisted:

Megs could still be a tank.

Just Urban Camo instead. Change the expression to being more peaceful or angelic looking.

smaller gun to give him a more defensive than offensive look.

Perhaps a UN APC or a Red Cross ambulance??

and how's this, Unicron - benevolent, Primus galaxy roaming planet consumer???

Excellent choice of base, I see either an APC or Military Fire truck... or whatever they are, you know what I mean. Like that minicon firebot... but bigger.

That'd work really well now that I think about it....

I was also thinking RID Prime mich make a nice base.

cd redalert perfect, with megs head and a small turret instead of the rocket, and i wouldnt be afraid of using a larger head than RAs to make him less bulky. and to think i forgot about this fig. as for the symbols i would leave them the same, thinkk of this as a comic book, the autobots and decepticons duking it out, we see humans running in terror, oh no there in trouble but, wait. is that megs saving them? wtf :shock:

who would see that one coming?

edit: if you take RA head and spin it around it is almost the shape of megs. with a little work and putty it could be the base for a happy megs

Take the large launcher off, smooth out the top and then give him side cannons. Smaller ones that are fixed (maybe some elevation ability on a pivot point).

Then they could mount on either arm in robot mode. So it'd still look like Megs, but different.

Or have the two link together and mount to one arm.

This gives you more of a smooth top look (most APC's are smooth top, some have turrets but they're multi-purpose vehciles like the LAV and Bradley M2 and M3's).

As for others, Soundwave could be converted into an M577 APC as well, boxier, with tracks, but would give him a similar "box" shape in robot mode (reference).

This would allow him to be protective of his little horde. They, in turn could become a whole slew of things. From military radios to crates to military type computers (large crate affairs that they carry in the 577's) that would, again, allow them to maintain their current transformation styles but have new forms befiting of Soundwaves.

Also, the 577 is a command and control vehicle, so it would be a good choice for your commo guy.

Another thought would be to use something like the LAV (reference 1, Reference 2) for the likes of Runabout and Runamuck. Sturdy vehicles that would fit their personas, which, when flipped, would have them acting wildly to protect others. Picking on close range version (small barreled turret) for close up protection and one long range version (long barrel or anti-aircraft equipted version) would allow for them to act crazy to protect the innocent.

To be honest, I don't think it'd be at all necessary to change every character's alt-mode to something completely different. The Battlechargers could still work fine as cars; after all, the Autobots prove that you don't have to be a military vehicle to be an effective fighter. I think the only reason we've (unofficially) given Megs this APC sort of thing is to create a more defensive form of the tank we've become used to. Soundwave could continue as some form of comms device, Stunticons as cars and all. 'Course, you'd probably want to redesign them all, just on principle.

My thoughts on it were to make them more cohesive in style and design. Originally, the Autobots had many who were similar in design (most of the cars for example) and had a common theme of all being civilian vehicles.

So I took that, set the idea on the Decepticons and went from there. They'd be sort of like a rescue force. Mostly military in design, but all with clear roles of helping and protecting, as well as fighting.
