With that kind of exorbitant price (even for the cheaper $60), why not just redesign and reproduce the whole Cliffjumper altogether?

It's a nice kit, but not for that kind of dough.

I bought a head from Valkfan over at tformers.com. I also got his Alt sized Ratchet & Ironhide all for around 1/2 what that whole kit cost. It fills the bill just fine for me. :-)

I do hope Hasbro is paying attention though. If people are willing to shell out hundreds of dollars (or even the $60 you guys paid) for this, it would really behoove them to make their CJs at least a little different from their BBs!

Heck then they could release Bumblejumpers and CliffBees, and idiots like us would buy them :-)

That's right. Hasbro should do something about this. Instead of doing endless repaint of the same characters.

My Cliffjumper should arrive tomorrow. I'll be happy with him either way, he's going into my collection as part of my Wreckers squad, along with Hot Rod, Mirage, Cheetor, Jetfire and Sunstreaker from the Classics/Universe line, oh how metal heads shall roll when that day comes. Still wouldn't mind having that pistol for CJ though.

Wow that's awesome!

I make do with giving my Cliffjumper a big axe because I play a D&D character based on him (a halfling barbarian using a greataxe). In addition to borrowing Energon Strongarm's axe, my CJ often steals the Energon Combaticon helicopter's gun.

There was a guy who used to post a very little bit on the customs forum who made a set of 10 of each and was selling them on Carbomya and ebay last year. You may remember he also made a Quintesson Prosecutor.

Do a search in the art area for Arblus or Kranix and his posts should pop up.

For those of you that have the kit and have already assembled it, how is the transformation? Does the new head make it more difficult to transform?

The reason why I ask is b/c my bro was able to get one off ebay and wanted to know if I would like to purchase it.

Let me ask you something though. The back card sayes it comes with a comic and collectors certificate.

The card is marked 60 of 300. Is that it? or is there more inside the cardboard backing?

Answers to above 3 posts:

It comes with a comic, instructions and certificate saying it is limited to 300.

Transforming it is fine with the new head. It is just slightly larger.

Yes, you do need super glure for everything except the head.

Yes you do need to buiy a CJ. ;-)

I kind of figured the guns came preassembled or you just snapped them together like a model kit. Anyways I'd rather buy the Magnus upgrade kit as it's sure to be badass. I also wanna get a G1 Optimus gun for my Classics Prime, don't want a kit for it though, just a titanium war within Prime gun if it'll fit.

Ah, only care about the guns really. His head looks fine to me and the add ons make him look like a ricer to me. I'm gonna take BB's spoiler off when I get him so he better resembles his G1 form.
