That, and I wondered why there weren't another pair of the large white joints for his feet, but whatever. =)
Having these joints would be a great option instead of like bionacle ones or trying to salvage joints from other bots. I just wonder how much of a pain it would be to get the smaller ones done. Definately interested on how that turns out!!

They are like a combinatoin of a ball joint and a ratchet joint. One joint allowing for 360 degree articulation.
The pieces are currently in the mold. When I finish the mold I will take pics, and then start the cast itself.

Any chance, if it all works out, that you might be up to making a dupe mold for a cost? Do you use silicon or rubber? I have some Smooth-on Smooth-Cast 300 liquid plastic that's just sitting there... waiting to be something.

Well it might have been my fault. These joints are really meant to bent two ways. They are like a hinge, with a ratchet inside. If you bend them the oposite way (ways they aren't meant to bend) they are going to snap.
Like any other toy, just have to pay attention to what you are doing. Don't get me wrong, they are as durable as any other transformer, and IMO worth the $20 a pop.
As for my cast. I have demolded it. A damned air bubble got into the mix, where the "teeth"-(the locking mechanism) are. So I have to cast the locking half of the joint again. The ratchet half came out good and so did the matrix. I am painting the matrix today.
