I like that they're making non-traditional robots now. Who said TFs had to have two arms and two legs?

Does anyone even know if there will officially be "Constructicons" in the movie at all? We seem to have fix Decepticons here, yes, but they aren't named G1 Constructicon names, and they seem to only be called a "a few Decepticons" under Demolishor, officialy.
What I'm saying here is if someone who didn't know any TF history saw the movie and looked at the toy boxes and commercials, would he hear or read the word "Constructicon" anywhere?

1. Demolisher and Scavenger are the same guy. We do not know which name will be the final one, but given that "Demolishor" is confirmed to be the name of the Voyager toy, it seems more likely. Then again, Scavenger was the name of one of the original Constructicons (and had the same altmode as this one), so it fits too.decepticon legion wrote:First-Aid wrote:OK..maybe I'm missing something.
We know there are six constructicons that combine. The shovel that combines in that group is Scavenger. He looks almost identical to Demolishor. Does that mean that Dems will NOT combine with the others? Or are we going to see him smashed in the opening sequence of the movie (as evidenced by the Chinese street signs on the overpass he crushes) and then REBUILT to combine with other Decepticons?
I'm a tad confused...
I have this theory. Hasbro has lost copyright to the Scavenger name, so they call the constructicons leader Demolishor now. And they printed SCVNGR sign to the non-transforming version, which is perfectly legal.
The same happened to Alternators Shockblast. The toy is called Shockblast, but it has SHKWAV on the licence plate:

What do you think?
2. It's not likely that Hasbro has lost the rights to the name "Scavenger". It's one of those names that's well known enough to not lose so easily. It's like the names "Prowl" or "Ironhide". Hasbro won't lose those names so easily either.
3. "Scavenger was probably the preliminary name for Demolishor. Someone probably didn't get the memo about the name change and thus leaving us with two names for the same guy.
The name of the $100 set is called "Constructicon Devastator".Scaleface wrote:Does anyone even know if there will officially be "Constructicons" in the movie at all? Re: ROTF Demolishor Bio Revealed
I can get just about get past the alien heads in the last film despite Prime having a G1 -esque type head which makes you wonder why all their heads couldn't have been done like that.
But a really big Decepticon that towers over Optimus Prime zipping around on a unicycle is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. And I thought nothing could be worse than George Clooney's flip out ice skates in the Batman film that almost killed the franchise but this actually beats it.
Hated the Vehicon robot modes in Beast Machines and can't believe they're bringing something so stupid into the film.
Millions to spend on a movie budget and this is what we get? I'm almost ready to give up on Transformers. I mean the realistic bad ass alien robot concept we got in the first film has just been negated. The robot designers for these films should be flogged. First Scorponok and now this garbage. We'll be getting tributes to Alpha Trion's beard and Rattrap's stupid buck teeth next.

Re: ROTF Demolishor Bio Revealed
Ok, not sure as to why no one seems to be curious as I am as to the meaning behind the last sentence of his bio where it talks of a new emerging decepticon leader. so...that now can possibly tell us a couple things; it's not megatron, hince the word 'new' being used, therefore it must be starscream or the fallen I would assume, and whoever it may be, how then does this play out in the possibility of inner quarrels amongst decepticons (foes)? Since we are already made aware that the autobots, at least optimus, attempts to thwart the massive menace, well who else may be against the beast as well, and therfore devastator? Is it starscreams band of hulligans or will it possibly be the fallen himself who may have to deal with the ol' devy, or maybe just the autos. My point is...I thought I recall there being some sort of leadership struggle amongst the ranks of the decepticon race according to plot rumors, like starsream, soundwave, megs coming back, the fallen etc. theres many options. But who is it that summons or orders the rise of devy? maybe it's the fallen's REVENGE against all, friend and foe. anyone care to share your thoughts on this?

I was confused about that, too. It seems like his name could be scavnger, considering all the similarities to G1, but the box says Demolisher. Does the voyager version hve "SCVNGR" Printed on it anywhere?
And another thing I was wondering, do the other six constructicons have separate versions that can transform? Or is Demolisher/Scavenger the only one who has two versions of himself.

Hasbro's tendancy to mislabel things on card backs strike again.
The gears aren't actually in the shoulders, they're most likely those silver gear shafts you see in the upper arms.

No, one character with two different toys. One is the individually sold one and the other is from the combiner giftset.

Re: ROTF Demolishor Bio Revealed
YES, we all know they are two different toys. They are making TWO TOYS for this character, and they have slightly different paint decos. They are both Demolishor. One is a more complex toy that turns into a robot, the other is a less complex toy that combines into Devastator.
That picture does have 7 vehicles, but everything we have heard says Devastator is now 6 vehicles. He's a excavator (Demolishor), scoop loader, crane, dump truck, cement mixer and a bulldozer (Rampage).

@Robinson:
Why did you quote yourself?
Can you point out on the image where the these two shovels are on Devastator's body, as you claim them to be?
And, the Voyager Demolisher toy cannot combine with the Devastator components. Just like how Deluxe Rampage cannot either, which is why a second, much larger Rampage toy is a Devastator component.

Re: ROTF Demolishor Bio Revealed
If they are making 2 toys of 1 character why are the paint app's completely different, the would both have the "scvngr" pain on them and the shovel, tank treads, and cab would be mold identically, instead of being different as they are.
Looking back at the picture the 2nd shovel in the photo is the right arm.

One excavator. Demolisher forms the torso. They made two slightly different versions because one transforms into an individual robot( which I have on my computer desk right now) and the other doesnt, only forms the torso for the giftset. They probably put SCVNGR on the side to differentiate between the two versions because they are indeed the same character. There aren't any steam shovel/excavator arms, that set is what we are getting and the individual tf'ing bots, for now.

Well, after looking at this guy closely and watching the teaser trailer a bizillion times, i think I'll get this guy! one reason is i cant justify spending double the money on all the constructicons i would rather have the ones that a an alt mode and a robot mode for display or show, than have the ones that ONLY have an alt mode and then combine into devastator. Too me i think theres something hidden will all of these figures, maybe hasbro is not showing the big picture with each of these constructicons? maybe all of them have a hidden alt mode, like Galvatron did, that walking tank thing he transformed into. After seeing this guy in the trailer, he's nothing but brute strength and power, so whats not to like about him!
yes yes i understand that he doesn't have 2 legs like the rest, but are we so use to watching our favorite cartoon from the 80's, that we can't expand our imagination a little that all robots doesn't have to have 2 legs!!

Too weird but I will buy him to form Devastator. He will go great next my Gi. But that leads to my next question....The fool who decided to cange Brawl's name to Devastator in part one really screwed up...Nowq what are they planning to name Devastator in the movie ??? Or are they just going to play dumb and hope we all forgot ???

This guy does not combine to form Devastator. His other toy that come packaged with the other Constructicons (and does not have a robot mode) does.Rated X wrote:Too weird but I will buy him to form Devastator. He will go great next my Gi. Brawl's name in the first movie was a mistake that Bay did on purpose. He like the sound of the name "Devastator" beter than the name "Brawl". Brawl's name is still Brawl, no matter what. The Reign of Starscream fixed this error by reshowing the same movie scene where the Decepticons state their names and replaced the name "Devastator" with "Brawl".
Devastator will be called "Devastator" in ROTF. One intentional error on Bay's behalf will not stop that.
