cool it man.
also take into account your talking about toys marketed for 3 year olds.
some of us feel the same way you do,but the point is that we dont do anything because hasbro has done this for years and they wont stop now.
but if they didn't have variations and recolors, even more poeple would hate the toys even more.

example:
some people(me included)dont like animated deluxe bumblebee,so i bought the activator to be in scale, but i didn't like the colors(namely the yellow),so i bought the patrol version to fit with the other autobots as far as colors go(his yellow makes him stick out)

if they didn't have variations and recolors id be completely screwed on having a bumblebee, because i hated the main version of it.
theres mothing wrong with the yellow :P
i dont hate yellow,it's probably my favorite color(from all the bumblebee's everywhere)
it's just the bright yellow makes him stick out next to prowl, shockwave and grimlock
also, :APPLAUSE: for FINALLY hasbro gives us a cybertron form that doesn't suck(titaniums sucked.movies were crap on wheels.cyb.mode prime looked like a red version of the movie ones)

Weapon: High-Energy Particle Beam Rifle
Pre-Earth Ratchet? Pre-Earth Ironhide? Dunno... looks to me like someone painted a tortoise's legs red and dumped it on it's back... :-P

Looks like the Bumblebee cannons come at a cost - looks like the chest doesn'r deform any more.

Oh, well, I got all the other versions of this dude, I'm sure I can stretch to another one. How many versions of this mould have we had now?

Original
Allspark
Evolution of a Hero (Battle Damage)
Premium
Cliffjumper
Stealth
Screen Battles

and now the Cannon and preview versions from ROTF!! Will it ever stop?

Come to think of it, they don't really NEED to do this crap now!!!
Screw this toy, I'm not buying it! I think it's about time we sent a message to Hasbro that we aren't going to be their bitches any longer!
I'm sick of their crappy repaints and their basic lack of thought and effort and inability to give us products that are worth a damn.
I really hate to say it, but this toy line (the whole Trafnsformer toy line) is turning into one huge dissapointment and I think has finally reached the end of it's run. I'm to the point where I don't even want to buy Transformers for my kids anymore. I'd just as soon get them TCG's or Ben10 figures before I get them TF's.
Let's see if Hasbro can guess which finger I'm holding up now!

Sorry about that guys, glitch in the wiring. I know better, and I've preached to the converted myself more times than I can remember. It's hard to maintain ones focus when some things have become some stagnant on so many levels and the gears of progress seem to be grinding up all the wrong things in their way in the slow march forward. Just took out frustration about other cumulative stuff in the wrong area. Hard not to do when the economy and state of everything else seems to kick one in the proverbial groin.

...and yeah, at least he's still yellow. Have to give thanks for the small contants in the universe. :P
nemesis-prime and primeoptimus, thanks! This is what "community" is all about. I appreciate you guys. (the rest of you, too!) B-)

This is just my "2 cents of dial-up talk" but I don't see why we CAN'T have many different variations of Bumblebee when:

Barbie has over 1000 variations, how many different version of Malibu Beach do we need? Apparently, many collectors do.

My Little Pony has over 5 variations of EACH pony (micro, small, medium, large, plushie, make-up, etc) and sometimes mixed with playsets.

Batman comes in basic action figure, stealth-type, underwater excursion, heavy-armor type, flying version, and multiple sizes.

Disney has HOW MANY variations of Mickey Mouse throughout the 90 years? Poodle-skirt-style, Flapper-style, Rapper-style, Steampunk-style, Transformers-style, how many?

The list goes on: Spiderman, Star Wars, GI Joe, WWE, etc.

I kinda like all the repaints and remoulds, but just to play devil's advocate to the post above...

The Barbie line is the Barbie line, it's been popular for half a century. Okay, so there are a few subsidiary characters, but the line IS Barbie. We are fans of The Transformers toyline, not The Bumblebee toyline.

Each of the Batman toys had a different gimmick. There was one that could change into Bruce Wayne, there was an underwater one, a flying one, even a few with lights and sounds. At least a bit of effort wnet into each individual version, other than just 'hey, let's slap some luminous blue paint on him and re-sell him again' as was done with the Allspark version.

The thing is, Transformers has continued for so long because of its versatility, its penchant for change and new ideas, and its good attitude towards innovation. How are Barbie dolls today any different from the ones that were being released ten years ago?

Now, I realise that there is a market for repaints (otherwise, why sell them?), and personally I contribute to that market. But I can see both sides of the argument.

Besides, remoulds and repaints aren't a new thing - just look at G1 toys such as Thundercracker, Red Alert, Targetmaster Kup, Frenzy, Smokescreen et al.

Everyone's surely used to it by now, eh?
