Back in September I missed the first preorder and I was pissed, because I saw how quickly those preorders wound up on eBay. That made me determined not to buy from a scalper on eBay. I decided to start following the sightings forum on Seibertron. Once I heard Prime was in stores, I started calling. After a week I found three. The first one the guy at TRU would not hold it for me, not sure why (he was kind of an ass on phone.) The two other stores were willing to hold him for a few days. Once I picked one up (100+tax) I released the other one. For a few weeks I checked back on TRU’s site and saw that Prime was restocked a few more times. I even posted it to Seibertron to let people know. In December I saw 3 more in stores. Of course my TRU had marked them up to 149 by then, but it was still cheaper than a scalper. Anyway, the point is you just have to spend a little leg time to find what you want at the price you want. My advice is to just call around or check the site regularly. With a little patience and persistence you will be able to find Soundwave.
none of that should be necessary. that seems like a whole lot of hassle to me.
i preordered my soundwave from bbts when it was first put up for preorder, so my order came to $169 with shipping and everything. i'm sure hasbro will release it at $80 or so.. probably more if you consider how high their prices have been rising so quickly. so spending the extra $70 to have it 6 or 7 months early, and the peace of mind of knowing i wont have worry about beating a scalper to a store or having to call each toys r us in my area a bunch of times in the morning is well worth it to me.
but hey, more power to the people who want to save their money but waste their time. lol kidding.
i'm also curious to see how different soundwave will look.. if at all.
