What a joke, BBTS just mashes it's fat sweaty palm on the keypad to come up with some of it's rediculous prices I think.
You and me both. Yes, they're dependable. Yes, for the most part they're trustworthy.
But their pricing is ridiculous, the Pile Of Loot is just another way to make more money off of you, and their shipping issues. Part of the reason they raised their prices was due to flat rate shipping just killing their wallets. Well, now that it's been abolished in favor of a much more expensive set of services that don't provide quite the same quality...the prices of the items themselves should be dropping like rocks.
Plus, I purchased a figure from one of their clearance sales back in 2005, and it said nothing about the level of quality. Just what the item was, and how much.
So I order, it arrives, and it turns out the box had not only been opened, but it had been smashed in a slight bit. No, I'm not a box collector, and yes I'll be throwing the packaging out, but it's the principle of it, you know? At least tell me up front that I paid this price for a damaged package and that I'm not the first to open it (which is part of the thrill to it all for me.)
I didn't return it because it would end up being more hassle than it was worth, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
A friend of mine used one of their clearances as well and he also received a damaged package, though his was much much worse. He ordered the E-Hobby Insecticons, and the plastic bubble was ripped so bad, one of them was coming out, and partially taped into the box. (Now you know UPS didn't do that, the carton was still sealed from the moment BBTS shipped it. Because their "Fragile Do Not Drop" orange stickers were still on the seams.)
It's a shame, because they are generally honest, and they are 100% dependable, but with the clearance sale items, shipping costs going through the roof, and prices of the items themselves....it's just not worth it.
Especially when places like Digital Toys are still quite affordable, completely dependable, and 100% honest.
