Sludge seems to have missed out on the clear plastics? Am I right? I can't see any.
As for all these cool reveals, it's harder and harder to get excited when not even Rhinox and co are in my stores. Even AoE generations have been shafted completely. My Tesco and Argos have nothing but the simple gimmick stuff. The only way to find AoE Gen. toys was a TRU in London (I stayed there recently) Other than that the latest Generations to be there are the Optimus and Bumblee legends figs with the minicons. They still had an FoC Sideswipe! Forget these combiners, I still need to find Swerve, cosmos, whirl and Rattrap
Cosmos may have my vote for figure of the year. Seriously, he's near-perfect IMHO. Totally worth buying him off ebay or some other after-market if you can get a reasonable price.

I'm forced to disagree, Whirl is un-vincible!

while i like the whirl figure... those thin plastic knee joints are TERRIFYING. so much so, that i posed him right out of the box and never plan on moving those joints again.

Allow me to steal that idea.
They will also combine together to do two different super modes! I'll use some Energon leftovers and...
Gotta get to work!

See the set listed on Ebay for 240, 60 less then BBTS though so thats not bad. Still not worth 240 to me though, and then you have to get the other one off amazon separately.

Rhinox has my vote, it's probably the closest thing we'll ever get to a Masterpiece BW figure.

If your like me and love G1, your screwed! The SDCC items look like crap too but I guess people love to buy crap these days. I feel sorry for kids that have to grow up now with crap like this. When I grew up in the 80's I had so many quality choices of toys and tv shows to watch that supported the toys, now everything is recycled into some new creative design that has nothing to do with the original idea. Sad, just sad! I will not buy any of this new trash, G1 for me and if I have to dish out the cash for it, then so be it.

I am really confused by this. I am a G1 guy and the new Superion and Menasor are sweet looking. I mean they are like a 30 something Transformers fan's wet dream lol. The generations stuff(not AoE) is great for G1 fans, but I guess that's just me.

That's exactly the opposite reaction I've had to the Transformers showcases at SDCC. The combiners are full of G1 appeal, lovingly, not lavishly, modernizing the original characters and concepts for the most part. They've got competent robot, alt, and limb modes, torsos of a larger size class than the limbs, Scramble City style customizability, hands and feet as separate pieces of the gestalt modes (how much more G1 can that be, honestly?) and now, they've taken the old concepts a step further with "honorary" team members who become weapons or armor for the main teams' gestalt modes. Heck, Hasbro finally remembered that the Aerialbots are rivals to the Stunticons, NOT the Combaticons. I'm very excited to see what comes next in the "Combiner Wars."
The G1-themed AoE Dinobot set is just bursting with G1 goodness too. The AoE Dinobots turned out pretty well, and giving them the G1 deco treatment and putting them in a box that transforms into Mount St. Hillary on the front on the Ark, complete with Teletran 1 on the back, is more than most fans could ask for in an SDCC exclusive.

Excellent point, I've always seen it like this:
Menesor - Superion
Bruticus Maximus - Defensor
Abominus - Computron

After all, this is an all-encompassing thread for SDCC Transformers news in general, so anyone not aware of that who clicked to comment on just one news post might think that this topic is just for that particular bit of news.
So, yeah, I'm betting he was talking about the SDCC Dinobots in all their Movieverse mold glory (or leack thereof, from his point of view).

Unless TakaraTomy comes through with making one of their own independently of Hasbro in their Movie Advanced Series line.

Knock Out, not Smokescreen.Aside from him there's the RotF Legends Sideways repaint and the One-Step Changer. All exclusive to Walmart supposedly as the One-Step has appeared at Target of all places.
Oh yeah, Knock out. Still, in Canada, Legends tend to sell between 5$ and 7$. At 7$, it's the highest price it can get, TrU style. But 8.50$? For a repaint? A repaint that is very close to the original?
NOOOOOOOOPE.
