Magnus is supposed to release in the same SS wave as everything else they revealed, which is the Fall-Winter wave of this year, not next year. His (unlabeled) listing leaked at the same time as the (also unlabeled) listings for Nemesis and Armada Prime.Sabrblade wrote:There's also the fact that this toy likely won't be released until next year, the year of the brand's 40th anniversary, which this toy was likely made at all in order to help celebrate that.

Dunno, siege was always vastly undersized and needed the third party add ons to make him proportionate.

Yeah, and it's only the stock photo. Onsite photos of the figure on display show it to have no broken antennae.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:cloudballoon wrote:Is Nova Prime's right antennae/ear comes pre-broken?
It is hilarious that the photos include that broken antennae

Hasbro executives: “Yes but only if we use reuse the molds from the past 3 years!! We spent our entire budget on the skids mold, the arcee mold both from WFC and Prime universe and oh let’s add a mini and blast effects to an existing deluxe to jack the price up $10-$20.”

Is this a time warp or something? Did you mean to post this 10 years ago? We've gotten a ton of Beast Wars characters so far with no sign of that ending any time soon. Other eras have been increasingly well represented, especially the Unicron Trilogy. The only valid complaint here is the lack of real Pretenders, but I think it's just a matter of time.

cloudballoon wrote:SS86 UM is arguably the "definitive version"-level (from Hasbro mainline anyway) well done. The only 2 legit complaints about this UM I think are:
1) the price and the lack of the inner robot *at* that price point. We can argue toy/toon accuracy, but Motormaster got a truck & a super hefty trailer for the same price. Same for Armada OP; in comparison, this UM seems very mid for a Commander in terms of complexity, play pattern and value and
2) How often we got UMs in the last few years? I can imagine completists are legit mad about seeing Siege, ER, SG and now SS86 UMs in the span of just 6~7 years? Leaders & Exclusives aren't exactly cheap nowadays. And now it's a Commander.
I'm glad I only got Siege UM, and I still love it to this day. It's much easier for me to consider Siege as the Cybertronian UM and SS86 as the G1. I'd be mad if I got ER UM instead of Siege. Still, I don't like to have versions of the same character on my CHUG shelf except troop builders. So, as I said before, I'll get this SS86 version only on sale, then if/once I have it in-hand, I'll repaint the Siege version into Delta Magnus.
Those complaining of G1 fatigue.... why are you reading/commenting on anything SS86? You KNOW the sub-line's not for you, and there are no lack of non-G1 products Hasbro come out every single year to comment on.
ZeroWolf wrote:The Siege version was more intended to be a Cybertron mode Magnus like the rest of the Siege range...Kingdom was supposed to be earth mode Magnus. Hasbro would have counted both of them as "G1" Magnus in terms of people's collections. I do think that they should have given the slot to a much better character, someone who needed the price point. If it had to be a g1 character from the movie, maybe Astrotrain would have fit better. While I'm okay with the Siege version, there is no denying that a bigger budget could only improve things as far as hiding parts when in train or shuttle form. However we got...this.
So, c'est a vie.
