Always a pleasure, Brojaki! Did the other package arrive as well?shajaki wrote:And finally, my last TF vinyl, care of the one and only Cobonator (thanks again bro!)!!

A day later, but yup! I've never had anything of my own turn out that good, I'm glad I got you to do it. Primo job, thanks!Cobotron wrote:Always a pleasure, Brojaki! Weird, out of left field, and actually kind of lame (even though its still cool). First off, who even knew they could produce these molds? What else do they have lyin around?
It's pretty neat that these were made. But I say lame, because... seriously? The Dino-cassettes are a set of four, they needed four cassettes for these two sets, and they released the same two just in different colors.
But I just realized while typing... that between both sets... you can make a duo of OG colors, and a duo of new weird candy colors. Think they planned that?
shajaki wrote:I've done a mini write up for all the Studio Series figures so far, so why not keep the ball rolling with Megatron and Brawl. Pics first? Pics first.
Brawl's up. He's an odd duck....
Tanks mode looks fine enough, but the main turret, y'know, the big gun you'd want to move, doesn't move. Even though there's a joint in the transformation that could totally allow it (though at the wrong axis, and would expose a huge hole). The turret above however, does move. Transformation about the right level of complexity you'd want. Bot mode is posable, enough, I guess. Nothing crazy, but not particularly limited like Blackout. His main issue, I'd say is his size. Shoulda been a Leader *tsk tsk*.
Ehh... you might be 100% right, but that doesn't really matter to me. I sure remember him being big and imposing, so that's how I want my toy representation. And since it's achievable (with the OG Leader mold still being worthwhile 10 years later) I'm not too bothered by the whole scenario.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I disagree on "Shoulda been a Leader". That would make him way oversize in the Studio Series. Looking at the first movie, he's about the same size as Ironhide. And since Optimus, Megatron, and Ironhide are Voyagers for scale purposes in the Studio Series, Brawl being one makes him the right size.

You don't have to worry about his shiny parts breaking because the shiny is paint. So the worst it can do is flake off and leave the plastic below nekked.

Still, none of the Transmetals flake as bad as Beast Machines Ultra Jetstorm. Is that the Anakin Revenge/Luke New Hope/Rei Awakens handle? It was at TRU too... honestly the fact that it was her face on the box kinda turned me off #origtrigpuristCobotron wrote:I bought the Force FX Anikin saber years ago. I think it was $150 back then. The handles are nice for mass produced replicas. The only problem I had with mine is the dome cap on the blade popped off. I still need to glue it back on, but I feel like it really should have never popped off in the first place.
Maybe get the green one he had in Attack of the Clones?Cobotron wrote:I'd like to delve into a really nice 3P saber too. In fact, I'm thinking after MP Megs and Battle Buffalo are paid for, I might start saving for one. I really want Obi's handle from EP 1, but maybe with a green blade. Because green is the cooooooolest!
