I plan to open the second one regardless. I just really hope the chipping issues are fixed. If not, he'll just never get transformed :(

And I picked these up on Tuesday and forgot to post. It is getting harder and harder to get these Steelbooks. BestBuy's here open at 10am, and I ran to closest on to work before 11.... and they only had 5 copies left of this. MAN am I paranoid about next weeks GOTG V2 Steelbook 8-}

The haul or the helmet? :-P

It's kinda rediculous how much I love the Green Ranger. I grew up watching (the first season anyways) of Power Rangers, but it never went any further than that, and upon rewatching it I found it's pretty horrible  . So really, I don't have much love for it outside of the original Megazord and everything Green Ranger.

Well.... I'm feelin a little

Image

I just went to Best Buy on my break to get my GOTG2 Steelbook.... and there were none there. Now I've told you all before how elusive these #$@!ers can be, but THEY DIDN'T EVEN GET THEM THIS TIME.

Once upon a time I got burned on the Deadpool Steelbook becuase it was solicted as an online exclusive, and I didn't notice it. So now I check every time. And guess what? Nowhere does it state that GOTG2 was meant to be an online exclusive. Also! It's sold out online obviously. The guy at the store said they spontaneously decided to make it an online exclusive, pretty much for no reason, and without notice. He encouraged me to phone in and complain. One infuriating automated call center call later, I did so. For whatever its worth.

Off to eBay, to spend twice the retail :-x :michaelbay:

But it's not to say I was left empty handed today. Quite the contrary! I got GOTG2 in 4K, Dareveil S2 Bluray, and Jessica Jones S1 Bluray from that illustrious Besy Buy. Then after work I found the Siege set from a local TRU (on sale and coupon'd!!), then opened up some mail to find a clear candy Diaclone dude!

Fabulous haul! I had no idea the Siege would be available in TRU too! Or is this for Canada only? Either way, I'd love too see more pics of 'em. Pounce is my most wanted of the set, but the rest would be keepers as well, imho. :)

Wow, a clear diaclone! How rare is that? You are all making it hard to not want to start collecting those little guys....

I loved Daredevil (especially Kingpin!) & JJ on Netflix -- need to binge on DEFENDERS next!

Canada only, sorry man.

And congrats Shajaki on not only finding this set but also getting to use the coupon plus the sale !

Maybe, but maybe not. What I mean is that while it is fun to find these sets at retail, people who are not near a toysrus are at a disadvantage and plus your store can be overlooked or simply not get any. With the states handling it as an online exclusive, every TF fan who knows of its existence has as much chance of getting it.

Plus, it goes for 150$ CAD online, which comes out to 172$ with tax in my province. Thats $137 USD, way more than what all those who have gotten it from BBTS have paid.

The only difference is that Shajaki and I are very very giddy of getting this set and at finding it at good price (thats timing and smarts) so it gives the illusion that Canada is a place full of smiles and cheap Seige on Cybertron sets. A nice image I dont mind people having, but its also not reality.

@Shajaki, let me know if your MAgnus Prime's trailer panels when wapped as feet keep getting undone. I find it super frustrating.

Will nailed it. Canada is in fact, not that fortunate. We literally only have 2 brick and mortar stores to choose from, Wal-Mart and TRU (and you need to be in a decent sized city to even have a TRU). And both have spotty records of distribution. The only reason I even got my Siege set is because of a notification from fellow fan friends in the city who saw it first. And had I not responded in MINUTES, I'd have been out of luck. It's only my connections that netted me that set. And the sale/coupon? Dumb luck.

Y'know I was meaning to make a post about this....

My Magnus Prime sucks. Those panels (in both modes) are fiddly as hell. Which is weird, because my LG Ginrai is pretty solid. So don't judge the mold based on this, because my Takara version is just delightful ;)

Well at least take comfort in knowing that mine sucks too. This is easily a toy I will almost never play with and thats too bad.

I see -- then I feel happy that you two were fortunate to find what you did locally.

We definitely have a lot more stores to choose from in the States, but we are primarily stocked up on TLK at the moment....I guess I'll be patient in the meantime and hope the last waves of TR show up soon.

Canada is also stocked up on TLK, here is what most of our TRUs look like (Shajaki can confirm if he wishes).

Nice haul! My Magnus Prime is pretty similar with the feet being an issue, but in combined mode, he holds up better. Dang he's big!

Yeah, I was surprised as to how the leg issue became insignificant when combined. Its defintely a saving grace.

Sorry about that,I was under the impression that Canada TRUs were mostly similar due to a smaller country and fewer stores being easier to manage.

Don't apologize Will, unless you're actually the Alberta regional manager of TRU

Anyways last day of the sale, I decided to go for it.

Image

I've heard a lot about this guy. From his arm cannon being fiddly, having weak joints, to him being KO quality, to even smelling bad. I was expecting the worst and planning to return him if any of that turned out to be true. But y'know what? Mines fine. Arm cannon isn't that fiddly, joints are fine, plastic quality is good, and he doesn't smell.

QC aside, I don't actually know if I like the figure. Voyager Megs was a simple opinion. Opened him, transformed him, yup, he good. The Leader isn't so simple a case. He has things about him that I prefer over the Voyager, and things I don't. The Leader isn't as posable, has that huge inaccurate arm cannon (which doesn't bug me that much actually but is still a minus), has those egregious forearm holes, and just doesn't have that nice of a silhouette. Really, all he's got is the cool mask gimmick and fire effects. Well, his jet mode is sweet too. It's not as clean actually (robot torso underneath, I'm lookin at you) but that wingspan in impressive.

TLDR. No Ragrets. But glad I didn't import the Takara or pay full price.
