I was looking at the trailer on Yahoo movie trailers and if you watch it frame by frame barricade is actually being chased by what seems to be 3 bots....i thought it was just 2 at first but it looks like 3...and you can see the audi symbol on the front of the hood....did anyone else catch that....

My little brother and me did the second time we watched the trailer.

Maybe it's Arcee's component pieces?

To me, if you look at the screen caps, the colours or the car (blue with white at the sides), and also the background (all the signs are in Japanese), seem to suggest that the bot being chased is the Japanese Police car we saw in the early set shots.

Whether that is Barricade or not im still not sure.

Look at Brawl/Devestator.
It looks exactly like Barricade, why can't it be a new name for the same character, or a name for just the toy for some odd reason. Or maybe they leaked a fake name to throw us off?

We shouldn't use supposed confirmations as outright proof in a fandom where there are new leaks out dating and contradicting old leaks every second.

Wait for the films release day before you tell us that it IS Barricade... because until then I'll go with the most recent info... which as of 2/26/09 is to say that it's Sideways.

In-box toy confirms it as Sideways...

They wouldn't give it one name in the movie and a different name on the toy. That would be marketing suicide.

i still say it is sideways. mostly because of the audi marking on the front of the car. im sure barricade is back though.

As much as I disagreed with Justicity, I must say that you missed his one valid point.

TF1: Devastator was used as the name of the tank, when the toy was (arguably more appropriately) called Brawl.

So, unfortunately, this "marketing suicide" has been done in the past.

Why do people think I think it IS Barricade? I'm simply saying don't say it's been confirmed in a movie where a lot of information "confirmation" is contradictory.

I dont see why Barricade would change his form anyways. Not like another transformer wouldnt know hes a transformer to bother changing it for that. The autobot freaking knew the F-22 was starscream before he fired on them. And in beginings they knew bumblee bee a camaro. So changing simply for the fact other transformers have seen you is pointless. And sector 7 uses geiger counters(picks up energon radiation) and other devices that see thru the disguises.

Id figure barricade will be a cop car if hes back. Sideways in the name given i stand by that till movie comes out. Oddly he looks simliar to punch/counterpunch's color scheme.

As for the brawlvastator mix up, thats bays doing. His name was brawl in almost every other thing outside of the movie, was a single subtitle which was easily ignored.(as they re using devastator for the new movies name.) I dont picture that happening again as Bay seems have a greater respect for transformers after having done the first movie and been sucessful. I dont picture him trying crowbar another name that differs from the toy.

was it just me or did the motorcycles chasing him looked liked thrusts' robot mode from beast machines?

Makes sense if they homaged that with the motorcycle fembots since they have simliar alt modes.

It's Arcee. Look at TF2's Arcee's toys and then watch the trailer in HD.

I want to believe you... but please point me to evidence that Barricade is back... other than it would make sense to see him since we didn't see him after the Freeway scene in TF1.

I see no RotF toy for him (so far), and I don't recall seeing his vehicle in any leaked call sheets or set photos. That doesn't mean we won't see him in robot mode, but I still am curious what evidence you have to make you so confident in saying Barricade is back.

All I know is that somebody over at TFW2005 boards said some friend of his read the ROTF script and said that in a fight scene the Saleen Mustang shows up. And as far as I'm concerned, they supposedly had Barricade killed off by Optimus Prime on the freeway in the first film, but then they decided they want to keep Barricade around for the sequel.

I'm very well convinced that Barricade will be in ROTF. But if you find that hard to believe, fine. I'm not trying to convince everybody that's the case. We'll just have to wait until June to see ROTF to find out if Barricade's in it or not.

Unless he gets killed in the next few issues he's probably in the movie. Besides, he already has a toy and isn't important enough to make again.

I didn't recall seeing or hearing of him being on the set for the filming of RotF. I mean... it's very possible that they did some filming that's never been reported on the net nor had any leaked pics posted on the net. But if you can forward a link to where you heard or saw his vehicle on set, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

That's why I said, unless they kill him in the next few issues, etc.

Also I can't link you to it otherwise I would have sounded more sure. I can't remember when exactly, but it was a while back when the info leaks of the brothers turning into an ice cream truck (well, a ICtruck being seen on set anyway) started. Someone reported seeing a Police car the same model as Barricade being transported with BB & some others. Believe me or not, I don't really care otherwise, but I can't convince you with more than what I've said.
