Out of all the many Grimlock we have gotten over the years, wich one is your favorite?
Personally the FOC one looks amazing to me, but I own the Energon one and he doesnt deserve all the hate he recieves!
When the day is done, wich one do you like most?

I'm actually still a big fan of Classics Deluxe Grimlock, but I think he will be overwhelmed once FoC Grimlock steps onto the shelf. Next year. Maybe. If that.

But yeah, baby Grimlock.

I'm also quite partial to the MP version, although I do not own him, and pretty sure I never will.

The only one I ever had was the G2 blue one (along with... the triceratops and stegosaur), and I had no idea at the time just who he was supposed to be (I still can't name them non-Swoop-nor-Grimlock Dinobots). And he kept falling apart. Still, childhood nostalgia.

Unless they go all G2 and/or include all the Dinobots, I don't have much interest in any others. Though I kinda liked how Animated looked. FoC Grimlock already looks problematic with the big backpack, no ankle articulation, and chunky tail.

I regret to say that I don't own a Grimlock, but I'm not a fan of how Classics Grimlock looks, quite frankly.

Energon Grimlock and Swoop look awesome, and I'd love to own them at some point. Plus, they combiiiiine!

FoC Grimmy is simply glorious and I WILL have him! :grin:

He's certainly very different in design from the other cast members, but in FoC he's that-guy-with-the-BFS, so it makes sense for him to be massive and chunky. He's perfect! =P~

My vote goes for Energon Grimlock. :grin:

I recently got him at a anime con and I'm in LOVE with this toy (and Swoop too).

there's one reason I could hate Energon Grimlock and Swoop: they're too bloody rare!

I'd love to have those guys in my collection.

Regardless, MP Grimlock's dino mode is without a doubt my favourite. His robot mode is great too, but just a little too big to work with the rest of my Classics. I pretty much keep him in t-rex mode though, like Season 3, so it doesn't matter that much.

the FOC one looks good, and works a little better than the "awesome looking, but I never picked him up" Animated version what with the extra detailing on him and more Classics-y proportions.

As a fan of both Comic and Cartoon G1 Grimlock, and seeing each as very different characters, I'll probably get FOC to do robot mode, and occasional t-rex-ification. Maybe more than occasional, if the light-up gimmick is cool.

I currently own Animated Grimmy, Classics Grimmy, Titanium War Within Grimmy, and Masterpiece Grimmy.

Currently, my favorite is beyond a shadow of a doubt MP Grimmy, with Animated a distant second. But if the shelf version of FoC Grimmy is as awesome looking as the version they had at SDCC, it SHALL be mine... as a very close second to MP Grimmy...

I used to own Animated Grimlock, and he was my only Grimlock. However, I sold him. Now I own no Grimlocks. The closest thing I have to Grimlock association is G1 Slag. I'm gonna grab the FoC Grimlock, because he looks boss.

i currently have G1 Pretender Grimlock, Classics Grimlock, Animated Grimlock and MP Grimlock, and i used to have the G2 blue Grimlock. my fave is the MP version though and he sits proudly on my Classics shelf

I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned MP Grimlock who, IMO, is the definitive Grimlock. However, I think Animated and the upcoming FoC version will sure be close runner ups.

Well yes, but he's also gigantic and expensive.

Great as he is, he's not something I'd be able to buy currently, so I omitted him.

OH WAIT! How did I forget! I DO have a Grimlock.

It's a red/yellow KO of Pretender Grimlock (inner robot only). You'd never know it's a KO though, the plastic feels top notch.

I guess a little of that can be permitted, just stay on topic toy-wise. Also, no love for Titanium Grimmy? I mean, I know titanium figs tend to be loose and clinky, but the design is top notch IMO.

Yeap, it may look cartoony, but the transformation is much like G1, and looks great in both modes, despite him in a different orientation after scientists discovered T-Rexes do not walk like G1 Grimlock did.

Plus, it has a flaming sword, much like the G1 who had a sword.

Aesthetically it'd be a no-contest for MP.
Sentimentally however, G1. But if I had to choose just one, then MP it is.

I'm really bummed about never seeing an MP Grimlock, but I also know I could never afford it.
After seeing so many people's comments on the Animated version, I might consider that one, though..

Anyway, if it's about the character, like I said in my first post in this topic, I see G1 Toon and G1 Comic Grimlock's to be very different characters. Each equally cool in their own ways, but really, Comic version has to be my fave.

I have nearly every Grimlock (and am about to have a lot less hopefully). Masterpiece is far and away my favorite. I agree Energon is awesome despite the ill conceived Mega-Dinobot mode. Actionmaster and Pretender are pretty sweet for when they were made as is Beast Wars but Alternator and Classics are the bottom of the barrel. Animated is Animated and pretty perfect for what it is but it's like having a whole bunch of red apples then a Granny Smith, you know? And RiD is like finding a pineapple in there. You get why someone might put it there but really how the heck does that one fit? They just aren't directly comparable. Anyway, Alternator, Energon (with Swoop), Actionmaster, and Pretender (no shell) will all be going soon hopefully. If anyone wants to save me from having to make an eBay listing, PM me.

EDIT: I totally spaced on Titanium! He's cool but being the last original mold from a line that was quickly being devoured by Classics/Universe 2.0 kinda didn't leave him any time to grow on me. He's for sale too.

I back you 100% on these choices! Masterpiece really lived up to its name on their Grimlock release. At some point, I do need to go about picking up a G1 Grimmy.
