With the impending arrival of HMW v.2.0 and the big reset, there are a few things I like to get off my chest.
I, for one, welcome the reset, even though it means that I will lose everything I've gained in the last 4 years, it also means that this is an opportunity to revitalize a game that I, in all honesty and no offense meant to the predecessors of the game's programmers, think was staled for several years now - the possibility of maxing out all the important stats is the only thing that kept me playing this game.
Now that my top guy is close to achieving this goal, I find the whole journey anti-climatic. Several times I've thought about quitting the game, but I stayed for the long haul. With the advent of the new game, I find myself very excited by the notion of all the promised features in the upcoming HMW.
But the game itself is not the only thing that makes it interesting and addictive. There is a rich and convoluted history behind HMW as well. I remember the top players of yore, i.e. Sky Lynx, Rice-ci, Ghost Rider, and Georgio Flashcard once reign supreme in the top ranks of the game. Then a new generation came to replace them, and they, too, were replaced by another generation of players.
And who can forget the various factions that popped up in the second year of the game? I remember when Made In Canada [MIC] first started and how it managed to attracted many fellow Canadians across the HMW, Autobots and Decepticons alike, to join together and have fun playing under the banner of "Canadianhood".
Unfortunately, this did not last because the powers-that-be made a decision to only allow 2 sub-factions with HMW, and MIC was not one of it. I must admit that for a time I've avoided HMW because of it, interpreting the action as being unfair, but I went back to playing anyways. I like to thank the players who stuck by MIC while many had left it since for their loyalty and comaderie. My hats off to you guys.
All in all, the games had its ups and downs. For all of you who stuck by it in the last four years, those of you who kept playing despite the periodic "oops", RNG playing havoc with you getting XPs, consecutive losing streaks, et cetera, I'm glad you've stuck with the game, chasing the same dream that I have - the hopes of getting to the top and maxing out your character's stats, devoting thousands of hours, losing sleep, not being able to hand in school assignments on time, if at all, and losing productivity at work and losing your jobs in the process, I want to thank you all for making this game fun and enjoyable for me in the last four years.
See you all in v.2.0.

And allow the truth to be told? nah, easier this way to cover up deception and lies.

Yeah, sorry about that.

Ah well, at least you're safe from me for now, unless I can be bothered to show up in V2. Then again I'll no doubt be back to my usual Decepticon ways, despite the fact I've actually been playing as an Autobot for a longer period of time!

i agree with you about excitement for the reset, and staleness fighting only a few people. at the same time it's been a ton of fun with those few players I've gone up against repeatedly at the higher levels (mainly snappy, super megatron, and some burn). I'll miss that familiarity, but I think it'll make me enjoy it even more when I see the same characters, though likely less often, in the next round...of course you probably won't recognize my characters based on their names...but oh well.
also i think part of getting stale was good...because a lot of what kept the intensity when players like uop rice and gr were in the lead was a moral battle against duals. Expanding energy fighting that definitely was unpleasant at times, but eventually all were either found out or quit on their own. So it takes the edge off, because it's just so hard to hate me and want to pass me. (right?
) For me it's much more relaxing now, maybe because I don't play quite as much, maybe because I've achieved what I've set out to do, but I think it's moreso because the battle for "righteousness" has been won...and there are no players on either side that I regularly run into that I truly don't like...sorry burn I even like you.

When I heard that the reset was definate, the ONLY goal I had was to get Blastcharge Maximus to level 6 as I hadn't reset him since I switched from the Autobots to the Decepticons some time in early '05. He is still the orginal Hardhead tank alt I asigned him to durring my young confused Autobot days. I've been playing since June of '04, and BM is the only remaining Autobot alt I have.
BTW, after the recent "OOPS" I was ready to give up because I had gone from 30K EXP from reaching that goal to where I was months prior, but Omega Sentinial's reaction to the situation has not only kept me in the game but kept me active these last few weeks.
OS, I trust you with version 2 as much as I trusted Glyph.
Here's to version 2!!! Maybe Blastcharge Maximus will take a new alt...

I hope everyone would see the new version as an opportunity to recapture the fun that the game had first introduced 3 years back. Experience and Energon can always be reclaimed, but the excitement of the game is not always the case.
