I'll take a stab at this again,...haven't got too much time what with the new baby girl here now,...oh yeah, by the way, she was born friday the 12th @ 1:55pm est and was a happy and healthy 7lbs 12oz :-)

THE BIG PRIZE

Okay guys, we have a VERY special prize for the winner of this round.

Before I say what it is, I want to throw a massive congratulations out to the prize provider, our very own Psychomud for coming second in the BotCon art contest. Check his DeviantArt page to see his Scarface inspired rendition of the Decepticon Apeface, along with other fabulous works, including my personal favourite, Deaths Head.

Getting back to the prize, Psychomud has very graciously agreed to do a piece of artwork based on the winning character of this round.

There is one small catch however.

Your character MUST be an original creation of your own creation complete with a fleshed out bio. It must NOT be a canon character or have much of a resemblance to a canon character (e.g. Optimus Prime1).

Don't like that condition? Well tough. When HMW2 gets here you won't be able to have canon characters under your command anyway so consider this a warm up!

But what if the winner of this round is a canon character?

Simple, it defaults to the highest ranked fan made non-canon character.

So that's it, that's the prize. Create a character, flesh it out in a bio, and win the chance to see your creation drawn and brought to life by a BotCon Award Winning Artist. Pretty cool eh?

I doubt I'll win though, but I've got a peice I commissioned from the Gearsmith on DevArt that hopefully should be finished soon. I need to check.

I gather upgrading our characters is OK so long as we keep within Level 7?

You keep track of your shutouts, wins and ties. No tracking losses. Your league score will be tabulated the tournament officials. I personally am going to keep track the number of losses I have (not who I lost to, just the number) so I can keep track of my own league score.

We wish to make a brief announcement to clarify a few questions:

The ICL:Smelting Pool League, organised both by ourselves and your native WarPorn Industries is a separate entity from the core HMW struggle, and as such different rules apply.

You have been chosen as contestants as a test of your configurational understanding, tactical knowledge and skill at arena combat, not of who has the biggest 'numbers' at the end. Your champions are here to take part in the SPL and related alone, and therefore any XP you accrue within a round belongs to us and is not kept at the end.

We will not be transferring any experience gains between rounds, that is not the point of this competition and as an advanced warning; future rounds may involve a lowering of your level/XP budgets, limitations on what tactics you are allowed to employ in a season, or specific goals that must be achieved during a league.

This has been planned out in as much detail as is possible considering the chaotic nature of your dying planet. We suggest you take the opportunity to enjoy the challenge placed before you, but realise, this is not the normal Heavy Metal War.

Oh mighty Huntmasters, what happens to the ones that do not participate this round that participated last round? Will they be stuck there and left if purgatory to battle amungst themselves? Will they be dropped down to their previous experice levels and thrown back into the fields of battle?

Oh yeah, I'm in for this round.

Can't get donations from your fellow teammates? You could always sell your weapon back, if you had one, and use you kung fu moves to take down your opponents.

Aside from a huge donation from my Girlfriend (which she can't repeat) the total donations I recieved last time would just about pay for 1 tonne of decent armour, and one of the donatees is planning on taking part. The armour just costs too much.

What doesn't help is that there's only about 5 people at all active in the Maximal forum, and only a couple more here.
