Well personally I did not have lot of complaints, I thought the show started out strong and well there plenty of things I wish they would’ve explain to a greater detail it was the first episode how much can you expect

I’m certainly going to continue watching this

On a sidenote I finally watched the last two seasons of discovery and foundThat I really didn’t hate the show as much as I expected to

On it's own, Discovery is a bloody good show. But when you try to fit it into existing Star Trek continuity ... it just becomes incredibly messy.

Yes and no. The final episode of season 2 cleaned a lot of that up. Discovery is a lot of fun, especially season 2. Pike is an amazing character. Kirk can go **** a duck.

Picard is pure greatness. I loved the first episode. Just the right level of hinting at the bigger plot to hook you in. My favorite part, though, is that they don't try to conceal Picard's age. Indeed, it is one of the driving forces of the show/episode. It works, damn well.

Also, until those few seconds of screen time, I wasn't aware of just how much I missed the Enterprise-D.

I concur, and I feel they fixed up a lot of those issues very easily

I wasn’t watching the show as it aired but I always thought fans were complaining more then the issues warranted

And Pike was great
Also, until those few seconds of screen time, I wasn't aware of just how much I missed the Enterprise-D.

About that, I know it was a dream and everything but why was data wearing the wrong uniform?

Sometimes mine are

But the dream of the painting was uniform accurate, that was the uniform used around the date they said that painting was made

I took it just as Picard dreaming of the best. Data was at the top of his game in the Uniform, and he feels that the time on the D was the best of times.

Honestly, I think you're over-thinking it. They did it for a reason, but to me, it wasn't a big reason, probably just to hint that it was a dream (though it was obvious in other ways that it was a dream)

Are you suggesting a “best of both worlds” kind of analogy?

I always felt Data was on a down slide when wearing that Uniform, writers fault of course.Serms to be that after first contact the writers wanted more of a pre-emotion chip Data

You might be right but in all honesty it’s one of the few things that made me think
Most complain or question bigger issues, for me it is always the small details lol,

Throughout all continuities of the franchise (movies, TV, books etc.), who are worse: the Borg, the Klingons or the Romulans?

All three presented themselves as a major threat at some point, but eventually something happened that saw the Klingons and Romulans become no threat, whereas the Borg still remained a threat, just a rather distant one.

I would have to say the Borg

While it could be said the threat level of all 3 were always dependent of the plot, I think the Goal of each villain should be considered.....And while the Klingons and the Romulans may have wanted to defeat the Federation enslave them and kill some of them I feel that there are some fates worse than death......Such as being assimilated

You know it's bad when you gotta dig up a thread due to clutter.

Anywho..

Sooo... Picard Season 3 Episode 9...

The old girl is back! NCC-1701-D

I saw it and got a little misty-eyed when the crew walked onto their old bridge.
