Which is sad, because you're all excited about an 'effect' on the voice which is part of the continued fake distortions of the site.

Since when?

No you wont be shot, just demoted. You are now, and the foreseeable future, Shadowboy :P

I hate to break your bubble. But Micheal Bay does have fans. I love most of his movies (have yet to see the island), and will love this one.

I prefer my male characters, especially those with as much power as Starscream, to sound like men.

Wow that sounds really good if that is his voice.

I'm on the pro latta side of this. Even Dobson admits he's not the Starscream Latta was.

I like Latta's voice for the original Starscream and I also like the new voice for the 2007 Starscream. The new voice to me is a fitting tribute, though I still don't like how Starscream looks in his new incarnation.

A lot of us are thinking Tom Kenny who does the voice of Spongebob, The Penguin(The Batman).

When he says "the allspark will be mine" you can make out a slight hint of Patchy the Pirate/Penguin in the voice.

Hmmm. Does sound Tom Kenny a bit. At any rate, I think this is the best Starscream voice since Latta - the other guys just never did anything for me.

But hopefully not for that movie. ;)

For Shadowman: Here's the first clip I could find where Cobra Commander talks early on on- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0iIV19qFNg&mode=related&search=

I actually recommend watching the link. The exchanges between Cobra Commander and Destro are hilarious.

In regard to the clip: That voice ruled. Dobson isn't name enough to get it, and I'm not going to complain about anything in comparison to Latta since he sadly is not with us to do the voice anyway.

i dont think it sounds that great. the allspark part just sounds like a human making his voice that way.. it doesn't sound like it's just the way he talks which sucks.

Listening to it more it might not be Kenny. But I know for a fact I've heard that freaking voice before. But I can't think of where!

EDIT! It sounds like the dude who did The Question in Justice League Unlimited. His name is Jeffrey Combs and he also played one of the blue dudes with the antenna in Star Trek Enterprise.

EDIT! AGAIN! Take a listen to a decent clip of The Question in Justice League. It's the same voice only raspier!

Disliking Chris Latta's Starscream boils down to personal preference, 'cause there's surely nothing wrong with the acting. No matter how "annoying" he may be, he's believable; he never sounds like he's reading off cardboard or chewing it. And "effeminate" can hardly be used as an insult when that's the effect he was going for. However, I feel circumstances are too different to compare Dobson's Screamer to Latta's: 1) Latta was allowed to experiment with his lines, while Dobson pretty much had to do exactly as told. 2) Dobson was working with a walking dialogue atrocity, comparison to which makes Latta's silliest bout of "Auto-bozo" name-calling sound like Henrik Ibsen. So no foul, Dobson did just fine.

there is a certian tone and speech style to starscream. I cannot quite place a finger on it. Where the voice is not the raspy shrill voice of latta, there is aspects of it which suit the character. Like a sort of sinister softness. Something which, I think Starscream could possess.

Basically with his rather unhappy robot mode, he may have some things that will work for him. If he is portrayed like he was in ghosts of yesterday, then he is pretty bad aft and this is good. So far it looks like he may have a voice that is Starscream-like. A person, or a Starscream fan like myself, can say, "I recognise that as Starscream talking." He is a F-22 Raptor, although not an F-15, I understand they are the updated replacement for the Eagles.

That's why the glee, I think some of us are looking for some hope in a series of disappointments. Because Latta is dead, I did not expect anything to sound remotely similar to Starscream. If this is a true movie clip, then I am pleasently surprised.
