This is what your crappy qc and crappier distribution methods have done to me hasbro, I'm that jaded towards your garbage light-weight excuses for 'leader' class figures
I got UM at full price. No regrets; he's a fun figure. Much photo madness fun has been had.william-james88 wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:So I was at target over the weekend; I had that coupon in one hand, and magnus in the other; I left without him, he wasn't even worth the effort at 25% off;

I think you should have gone for it. Unlike the Leader Seekers, a lot of love went into Magnus. Sure, takara was given a ton of restrictions but you can see how smart they were to work around them and give what I believeto be a very satisfying product.

Seems like a missed opportunity to me as well.

Fair enough. I forgot about that issue. One of mine's legs puts the fear in me.Hellscream9999 wrote:Yeah, got two of 'em and both of their legs' internal mechanisms snapped, leaving them stuck mid-rotation and unable to go into either configuration, so yeah, screw them

Edit: BBTS has the Platinum Dinobots on a one day sale for $79.99.

Weren't these guys just on sale? I've heard some pretty nice stuff about this set.

I'd encourage fans of those molds to jump on that. Very, very nice looking set. Excellent use of chrome, many of them have chrome with a black wash over it to look like weathered armor. Really evokes the knight-like aspect of the designs well.carytheone wrote:BBTS has the Platinum Dinobots on a one day sale for $79.99.

Yeah, well I wanted to like them, but I got two of 'em and both of their legs' internal mechanisms snapped, leaving them stuck mid-rotation and unable to go into either configuration, so yeah, screw 'em

Would you recomend this set over the new platinum dinobots with the new heads? I like these molds but I dont want that many of them and I dont own the sdcc set. So I am wondering for those who are also in m position if its worth going for this nice set or the other nice platinum set with the new heads
They are extremely different things.william-james88 wrote:Would you recomend this set over the new platinum dinobots with the new heads? If you've got Amazon Prime (heck, even if you don't), it's a steal on there right now http://www.amazon.com/Grimlock-Transfor ... I remember buying mine from the awesome mooncake623 here at a great price about a year ago, but that blows even his amazing deal out of the water!

Nemesis Grimlock isn't subtle enough to go with the other Black Knight dinos, imo.megatronus wrote:I still think Nemesis Grimlock goes better with the Black Knights... but this one is oh so much cheaper...

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

The sales seem to refresh mid-day/mid-afternoon, but yeah, been discounted before and may again be before xmas.Cobotron wrote:Edit: Oh, I thought it was a one-day sale. They're still marked down. To many pending pre-orders. this will go on the Xmas list.
I'm personally waiting for the G1 set. The heads/deco sell it for me, as I don't have any of this mold of Dinobots.carytheone wrote:I was waiting on this set to go on sale for a while (I think it was either HTS or TRU last time). The G1 flavored heads/deco has made me hesitate on these though. That G1 set doesn't seem to be well received, so patience may pay off on that set.

I keep watching this thread hoping it goes on sale for less than $70, if that counts.megatronus wrote:You've already forgotten about the Platinum Leader 2-pk Grimlock???
The one with the strange green, blue, and copper bronze paint apps? No thank you.megatronus wrote:You've already forgotten about the Platinum Leader 2-pk Grimlock???

I snagged the set of 2 for $60... it was a BBTS one day sale a couple months ago.ScottyP wrote:I keep watching this thread hoping it goes on sale for less than $70, if that counts.megatronus wrote:You've already forgotten about the Platinum Leader 2-pk Grimlock???
Ummm... but that's the one that most resembles the movie photos you posted...Sabrblade wrote:The one with the strange green, blue, and copper bronze paint apps? No thank you.megatronus wrote:You've already forgotten about the Platinum Leader 2-pk Grimlock???
