Don't count on it. The new Rumble and Frenzy are better
looking than the originals, but the only moving part they gained was feet.

Crud. I forgot about repaints. Soooo....G1 "Deluxe" with the original toy face plate....Hubcap...Black, Blue, Red, Gold...Hasbro will probably milk G1 suckers for this mold no less than 6 times.

I'm sure it'll just be me on this island, but I don't care for the looks of either Bee or Steeljaw.
I'm mainly disappointed about Steeljaw most because I can always get a great looking VW Bee. But the way they designed Seeljaw makes it look horrendous and blocky. I get it may be difficult to streamline a tape character, especially at a Core Price point. Sadly, I'll be forced to pass on what was one of my most anticipated figures, a shame because I felt they absolutely delivered on the new Rumble and was hoping the same treatment for the animals. I mean the legs don't even look jointed..
Springer, is it what it is, I wasn't planning on replacing WFC anyways because it feels like I just bought it! lol
That said, it does look nicer. Currently on the fence. Ultimately for me this stream was a bit of nothing burger.

Steeljaw is a definite buy
Wow Springer looks great. That does look significantly better than siege. Not sure I want to buy a leader class when I have siege already though, I'm not super attached to Springer anyways. But damn that looks cool
I like the accessories a lot too

Well, the fact that they are much taller for the same cassette mode, plus they have their proper accessories (all of them) counts for a lot. Articulation points be damned.

Origins Bee is good enough for me. Only way I get this mold is if they do a Marvel Comics version with blue legs and arms like they did Grimlock.

For sure, but this Steeljaw is the equivalent to those guys, there's no going "forward" from here, not at this price point.

Preordered Steeljaw. I do want the Seasons 1-movie team of casettes. Not gonna go 3P on these ones and I won't stray from the main team unless they come in a multipack or something. I have another cassette collection for that.
The one regret I have is not getting the 3P Autoscout, though. He just didn't look a thing like the one from the cartoon, but ... that's the best we'll ever get, isn't it? Geez.
Preordered Springer ... I guess. NGL, I may cancel that one. Not seeing how this one is that much better than Siege other than he took a bath.
Geez, I have so many Springers now. When i started on my TF journey I never thought I'd have so many of the guy just to get one that got him right. This one will be the last I ever get. This run of the movie Autobots are the last versions of the crew that I think I need in my life. And that's been the main focus of my collecting.
Bee. I Passed on Bee. Maybe if I see it in stores. Maybe. I have Netflix Bee so this is kinda new for the sake of new. Not that that has stopped me before. Does this foreshadow a new Cliffjumper? I passed on Earthrise Cliff, but maybe one from this mold...

They finally got Bumblebee's headsculpt right! He looks excelent, save for the chonky feet and weirdly square bumper.

I honestly think Bee looks pretty bad.
The black windows throw the entire thing out of line with the cartoon aesthetic, the square bumper and less defined hood and overall blockier design pushes him into Bumper territory, the paneling everywhere really breaks up the alt mode...I just can't get into it.
There's this whole discussion over whether he should be a VW Bug or penny racer, that I feel misses the point that he really doesn't achieve either aesthetic.
The robot mode is pretty good, and I suppose they've made a lot of these choices to prioritize it in addition to skirting copyright issues, but the goodwill on that all goes out the window with the black/yellow toy-inspired windows.
Might have to look at either KOs or swallowing my pride and ordering an overpriced Netflix Bumblebee if I want a G1 version of the character.

Kinda funny that Steeljaw's alt mode is only half painted on the rolls.
And Springer.... yikes.

I really don't see any point buying Bee now when it's being made to be abundant and will definitely see better prices later (especially when SS deluxes are only $20 at Walmart and Target for the foreseeable future.

If they do that SS86 in toy-accurate colors (like the Wreck and Rule one), then we'll talk as I have the original Siege one. Bumblebee is a pass, but with new head and feet...

Cliffjumper is already in the SS86 Bee mould. Look at the roof and windows, too square for Bee, but perfect for Cliff. Also the hood lines. All it needs is new feet, head and back of the car mode/backpack. I dont think Cliff will have his spoiler on his chest though.

I'm really happy with this new Bee...
I don't love the car mode, but for me that doesn't matter as much anyway.
The re-release of the NF version would have been plenty good, but imo this SS86 figure is better, just because of the bot mode.
Like the vast majority of TF figures, this has an issue or two, and maybe more that no one knows about yet.
I'm not sure this has earned the "definitive version" title, but as far as my relatively short time left in the collecting game, this seems to be the best G1 Bee I'll ever have.

I like Brawn’s face sculpt…. After the first “dead” set it reminded me that I wish it would become standard to include at least 1 alternate head/face that was more animated/expressive.
I’m pretty sure a lot of people would appreciate this.
