Yeah mine are coming as well, on Monday. A full month ahead of schedule. Rather inconvenient financially, but I don't think I can bring myself to cancel the order... FOMO sux...Emerje wrote:Just got a confirmation email from Amazon that Hook and Long Haul are arriving Tuesday!

Of course the build quality is much improved with the SS86. UW Devy is just the regular Hasbro one with an "upgrade kit". The original Titan Devy is just an amalgam of empty tupperwares snapped together. Light, hollow, and soft. Like, Authentic level.
The new SS86 will be much, much more expensive than the old titan overall, but you'll have your money's worth. Those will be at least "real" Transformers. With the quality you can expect from regular Generations toys.
So, instead of paying the absurd after-market price of the UW, you're better off with the SS86. If you already have it, keep it. The UW/CW Titan is still not so bad for its original price, and it would be a nice comparison with the SS86. Plus, it can be useful for remaking iconic moment when Devy is depicted grossly out of scale with the rest of the crew. Especially if you use Core/Legends scale figure with it.
If you don't have the old titan, no matter the version, get the SS86. If you're made of money, get both.

I already owned the unite Warriors version of Devastator. I would really like to hear from someone who owns both the unite Warriors version and the ss86 version. A lot of reviewers compare the two focusing on proportions and articulation, but seem to gloss over actual build quality.

I see. Thank you. I had debated getting 2 copies of Devastator, and since Scrapper and Bonecrusher are out, I thought maybe I could make a temporary cobbled together Devy until Mixmaster and Scavenger get released as well.Roadbuster wrote:Bonecrusher can fit in both sockets. But Scavenger and Mixmaster are not able to swap legs due to the ports on the legs being uniquely molded for Scrapper on the right and Mixmaster on the left.
What are the chances that the Constructicons will see a boxed set release as well?

There are no plans for a Devastator giftset for either 2026 or 2027 right now. They encourage us to buy the Constructicons this year rather than later. They are already knee-deep in 2027 planning and are intentionally not planning a box set so that they can move on to other Combiners they have to get to.

I have the UW set and I'm buying the SS86 Constructicons too. I'll be honest, the SS86 figures are just scaled down versions of the UW release. If you have the UW version you really don't need the SS86 ones.

I've contemplated getting two, mainly because i don't really want to have to keep taking it apart whenever I want to display the Constructicons separately . That's why I really like the new Aerialbots/Superion, I only need Silverbolt to form Superion. That way if I wanted to I only need two Sivlerbolts and can display the Aerialbots separately and pit Superion and Devestator against each other on a separate shelf. But with Devestator I kind of have to buy double of them all to do that. And the fact that two of them are Voyagers simply adds an extra $20 to the cost compared to Superion.

For Superion you would need at least the arm bots to complete the image. But yeah the leg design is a huge fail on Hasbro's partTill-all-R1 wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I had debated getting 2 copies of Devastator, and since Scrapper and Bonecrusher are out, I thought maybe I could make a temporary cobbled together Devy until Mixmaster and Scavenger get released as well.

There isn't a universal answer. Some of the figures, like Scrapper are very dense and solid. Others, like Bonecrusher are lighter due to being arms. I will say as a stand alone figure UW Bonecrusher is the better figure because it has a waist swivel.

I love how everything tabs in and has strong supports, and rather than rehashing all the comparisons as nauseum of this set vs CW, I wanted to bring in a couple of points from a different perspective.
First off. I've never owned a CW Devastator. I went straight for the UW version because of its better articulation of individual bots, inclusion of individual weapons, more faithful animation deco etc. While it doesn't have some of the same QC issues as CW, the one issue I have is that there's a connection point on Hook that has a very small tab that was put under a lot of stress and basically is broken. however all the tabs aligned that keep the chest piece on as Devastator basically negate this, so I'm good.
UW Dev looks great on a shelf next to Siege Omega Supreme, so I'm definitely keeping him, but now for the reason I'm getting the SS86 Devastator...
I wanted all my combiners basically in the same scale. The UW/CW/PotP/Selects ones are all 11 to 11.5 inches depending on foot extensions, 3rd party add-ons etc., and the Legacy Menasor is 12 inches (I assume AoP Superion is about the same). SS Dev is 13 inches, and while that is slightly bigger its still good enough to replace my KO CW Devastator (12 inches) that had been in my Combiner collection for the last 6 years or so.
So while I compare combiners to one another this is fine. But I have noticed an odd shift in the overall scaling. Bots from the OG series are genrally getting bigger (minibots which were once legend and legion class are now small deluxes, some larger vehicles like Ironhide which were deluxes are now small voyagers etc....). And that is fine. However... Siege Jetfire was the first CC, it was great as he was a larger character and that was a nice sweet spot, "almost" as big as a comiber but not quite, but still bigger that other like he Dinobots & Ultra Magnus.
Now however though, since SS86 UltraMagnus is a CC, basically the same size as previous combiners, the irony is that an 18 inch CW/UW Devastator scales better than the current one. Making other bots bigger, and Combiners smaller is kind of puzzling to me, but luckily I keep my combiners in their own collections outside of the rest of the TF's so Im happy.
Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Correct. He's about an inch taller (12 inches) vs most CW combiners which are between 11 and 11.5, but yes; that's why I had him in my collection, and why SS86 is a nice replacement.

Just to make sure. I would have surprised me to see the SS86 being as big as the old titan.
I just sold my undersized CW K.O because it will be replaced by the SS86. I'm glad that the SS86 will be slightly taller, and much more thicker than it.
