I'm loving core class personally, but remember this a core class release doesn't rule out anything else down the line or even in the same line. For example, first wave of Kingdom where you had core class Optimus Prime and the repack of Leader Class Optimus.

For me, I only want Core Class figures that are in scale with larger class figures. I skipped everything but Rattrap in Kingdom.

I didn't get any of the Fossilizers. Well, I did get the one with Nextflix Megatron (sold it) and Tricanius (sold it cuz I just wanted the blast effects).

Vertebreak and it's repaint Dracodon are not technically fossilizers, they don't come apart to form weapons or accessories etc.

I'm guessing you didn't get them because they didn't have any established fiction, which is fine.

I liked the fossilizers just for the cross play pattern. But yeah, core class SS that are not in scale with the others will be great for kids/ parents wanting a simpler smaller version of the character, But for hardcore collectors I can certainly see why it would be frustrating.

I don't see why we wouldn't have a Core Wheelie to replace the Grimlock accessory. Plus mechsuit Daniel while we're at it.

Core of characters that belong at that size ( Wheelie, cassettes etc) are fine, but core Optimus, Megatron , Ratchet etc... Would be hard because some people are fascinated with the numbers, and " gotta catch em all" mentality etc, which is fine. But also why having a RotF Devastator set would be frustrating especially afer getting them all separately. I'm not saying it's good or bad, it's just how some collectors feel.

I mean TFTM is probably my single favorite animated film ever, but even I am not collecting these toys, despite their initial awesomeness, for multiple reasons.

We may be 1/2 way there next year.

Transformers Generation Studio Ss Core Tf6 86 Spike 5010993948055
Transformers Generation Studio Series Core Tf7 Wheelie 5010994112134

I'm not sure about the weird TF6/TF7 notations and think they are in error. There was definiltey not a Spike in the Bumblebee movie and I don't think any toys from the new movie are appearing in SS next year.

My guess on Wheelie is a transformable core figure for SS86 since a transformable core for RotF would be too big to scale properly. No other core wheelie really makes sense unless they just say screw scale and do the RotF version.

And Spike should eventually be redecoed into Daniel.

Personally, I think the Cores scale really with Titans and Commander Skylynx (just as Micromasters scale super well with Commanders, etc), that's primarily what I use them for, where as other Core class figures such as Rattrap scales good with his fellow Beast Wars compatriots. It's one of the two depending on the choice of character and semi basic logic HaHa

I hope we see leader Snarl and Swoop someday, so the set is complete proper. I still hope for leader movie Scorn, Slug, and Strafe too; it's been almost 4 years since Grimlock came, and no sign that that subgroup will even get a 2nd member.

I like Core Class for the small bots. I got the 2 fossilizers and Rattrap, and they were nice. I hope they use that class wisely in SS

I don't follow, how would it be worse being in SS86 versus Legacy? For core class, the only difference would be the packaging itself.

Well, I'm still of the mindset that most of the SS86 figures have had a slightly different aesthetic.
Including a couple, Cyclonus and Galvatron, who really should have been in SS86.

I know this is an assumption, but if it's in SS86, the design is going to be closer to the animated stylings, and at the same time, avoid design "liberties" (like the Siege greebling I hate).
I guess Coronation SS is the exception... Which made him an easy pass for me.
Even at Core class, I'm betting this Ratchet could be a great little figure...
Yet, it won't have a place in my collection. So that's where my frustration surfaced.
Who knows, I may still get him just to support SS86... Just doesn't seem likely.

I'll probably get him just because I'm a big fan of Ratchet in general. Same reason I want a Core Soundwave but I have yet to see him in the wild. He would also scale perfectly with the WFC line in cassette deck mode.

And it would have been awesome (and probably guaranteed sales for Hasbro) if they released the G1 Dinobots AND their corresponding Bayverse Dinobots in SS at the same time.

Just a thought…
I get there’s a cap on the number of leader slots for SS86/SS…
But was at least one of the other G1 Dinobots pushed into 2023 because SS86 is going to end after 2022??

Technically, they may not be, but they fit in that...theme. I didn't get them because they weren't on Season One of the show, which is =/= to them not having established fiction. To be fair, I sold off Grimlock and will be selling off Skywarp II was well. It's not personal, just don't fit into what I want in my collection.

During the roundtable, it was mentioned directly that Hasbro has no intent of ending SS or SS86 anytime soon...but also they mentioned Bludgeon and Thunderwing by name while on this topic as bots they want to do, which is...curious.

My take is that it was just a diversion tactic. As in, crap they are pushing us on SS. Quick steer things back to G1.

Yeah I guess I got too caught up in what I think their scale should be  instead of just enjoying a great figure. So as soon as I spot Slag in store again, he's coming home.

Any ideas or guesses on who or what is supposed to be included with Sludge next year?
