Um...not sure if you've heard...the Saints won the Super Bowl last season. They Aints no more. Falcons have yet to get the title, but with the talent they have now, it wouldn't be surprising. Unlikely, but possible.

LOL.. Just a friendly rivalry.. It is common with Saints and Falcons fans.
HOWEVER, whenever they come here we take care of them and show them a good time. Now I have heard that they also take care of us when New Orleaninas visit Atlanta.

Best of luck on the Falcon's season CM :)

Hate to break it to ya, but 2009 is over. Until they win again, they're Aints once more. The one thing about the NFL tat holds true to this day is: Any given Sunday of any given year.

Depsite a loss to the Steelers, beatting the Cardinals 41-7 shows that the Falcons are still very much in it and have no reason to panic. Needless to say, the Saints are going to have to bring their A-Game next week.

A Super Bowl win is a Super Bowl win, no matter the year or the following season's performance. Call them Aints if you want, but it only amounts to a meaningless nickname at the most. Before, they actually lived up to it. As for rivalries, I understand completely. I grew up with the Browns-Steelers rivalry and being a Jets fan I also enjoy the Jets-Pats rivalry as well. Especially watching Tom Brady pick the spikes of the Jets players out of his ass.

And whoever said the Colts were in big troouble...?

TIme for week 2 thoughts. I like doing this because it gives everyone something to talk about during the week..:-P

This just in: Ryan Grant may not be as missed as everyone thought in the Packer backfield. THen again, it WAS Buffalo...how have they not been demoted to the CFL yet?

Brett Favre is bad and old. Bet retirement ain't looking so bad now? Even with AP ripping off 145 yards, they still only got one TD...and that's only because Miami turned it over on like the 3 yard line! Percy Harvin can't come back fast enough. Props to Miami for the win.

THe Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0. Wait, what? Really? I guess Matt Cassel wasn't as overrated as some of us thought. Oh, never mind. They were playing Cleveland.

How bout them Cowboys? Tons of talent, not enough coaching from the actual coaches. I think it's time for Jerry Jones to find an actual GM for the team. THe head coach got the kiss of death, too: the ever dooming "vote of confidence"! By the way, Mike Martz is a flipping genious. He has honestly managed to turn that Bears offense into a coherent unit. If the D-line can get more pressure on QBs, the North may belong to the Monsters of the Midway once again.

Atlanta may be the best team in the NFC. THe Cardinals...well, how far they have fallen. SO I suppose you take this bowout with a can of salt. Matt Ryan is damned good though. I see the Falcons doing the Dirty BIrd all the way to the NFC title game this year.

In another sign of the Apocolypse, Tampa is 2-0. Jimmy Claussen will be starting for Carolina next week. Hopefully he will survive the experience. Am I the only one that misses those bright orange unies from the 70's and 80's?

Hey, guess what Philly? You have a QB controversy! I never thought I'd say this...but Michael Vick was VERY impressive this week. Not only is he still quick, but he had great pocket presence and showed poise and a strong, accurate arm. Kolb may be the QB of the future in Philly, but Vick will start somewhere else next year. Oh, and the Philly defense needs to work on hanging on to leads a little better. How do you almost lose to Detroit with only 5 minutes left? OK, Detroit is improving, but still...

In the Lack of Offense Bowl, Cincy managed to stave off Baltimore. Is it just me, or has Cincy's offense actually gotten WORSE with the addition of TO? Batmand and Robin better dig out some Batarangs for the next game or Cincy may never score 20 points again.

Note to Jeff Fisher: next time you play make sure that your team knows what jerseys you are wearing so they will get the correct players the ball. SEVEN turnovers? Seriously? Nice job by the Steelers D. On the down side, Dennis Dixon tore up his knee so Pittsburgh has to decide which scrub...er...sub sucks less: Byron Leftwich or Charlie Batch. My money is on Terry Bradshaw coming out of retirement and outperforming both of them.

Proving that Pete Carroll isn't an NFL god, the Broncos beat up on Seattle. Blasphemers!

In the Festival of Utter Suckage game, the Rams managed to come from ahead to lose to the pathetic Oakland Raiders. Rumors have it that Al Davis is already looking to hire a new head coach. Until Davis gives up his post as GM, the Raiders will NEVER be relevant. Or maybe they can increase his Exelon patches...

J! E! T! S! JETS! JETS! JETS! You don't suppose Rex Ryan reveled in THAT win do you? Oh, and someone found LaDanian Tomlinson's legs and gave them back to him. He is looking like himself again. Nice to see. I liked him. Hey Tom Brady, you sucked. Oh wait, you already admitted that...

Showing that the order of nature is the best way, older Manning brother beat up on younger Manning brother. Can someone tell me how Archie Manning, rated by most experts as the worst NFL quarterback in history, can spawn two NFL superstars? Must have come from their mom's side. THe Colts D looked much improved...and Brandon Jacobs needs to work on his throwing motion. "I meant to throw it at the bench." Wow, dude. Your aim truly sucks.

In a true surprise, SF nearly managed to beat the Saints. It was a fun game to watch, with great defense, Frank Gore running over everything, a 2 point instant replay to tie the game. I am concerned about the Saints O-line...they just can't seem to run the ball for squat. The Niners may be the sleeper of the season, but they really need to work on consistency.

For next week: the oldest rivalry in the NFL is renewed! Packers-Bears baby! And it MEANS something!
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

What the heck is going on in Denver? You're right...that's three deaths in three years. Condolences to the Broncos and their fans and that young man's family. A suicide is a very deeply personal thing for me as I was there myself...it's often very hard to resist.

Yeah, it's rough. Darrent Williams was one of my favorite CBs, Nash and McKinley weren't big names, but still it's hard to see the players you watch every Sunday end up dying. It's not like they're injured or traded off to another team, it just hurts.

But hey, life goes on. Looking forward to Week 3.. Colts vs Broncos game usually are shootouts.. Brandon Marshall broke the NFL record for most catches in a game last year, I'm sure something magical will happen this time around too. But damn, what's with this scheduling, I swear the Broncos have played the Colts 3/4 past years and I'm pretty sure they've lost all 3.. I hope it ain't 4/5 after Sunday....

Lol....I hate to inform you brother but I am a Falcons fan. I don't care how many titles they win, they are and always will be the Aints to me. And hey, they almost got beat up by the 49ers last night. We are unstoppable for the most part in a domed environment....and our defense is the best i've seen it in 10 years. I think we have a legitimate shot. If we beat the Aint's, lookout everyone else.

And I asked nicely for users NOT to insult teams..

THAT MEANS ANY TEAMS. If you want to bash your own team it is ok, but ripping and insulting other teams can possibly start an unnecessary flame war.

Don't do it.

Constructive criticism is all that is going to be allowed here. Last season things got a bit tense in the thread and that is not going to happen again.

It was a tight game and they did "almost" lose it. But through the years how many teams have "almost lost it" and won the whole ball of wax?

However, maybe you are a little steamed that I was giving the Saints a little guff? I have family off of Jeff Davis parkway out there. The ribbing is all in good spirit dude. ;)

Not steamed at all, I just know how tense things got last year and want to avoid all that nonsense.
You have no idea how difficult my job is here when just one person is pissed at someone else and I get PMed about it constantly.
People are passionate about their teams and maybe some minor poking is ok, but full blown insults can be constituted as baiting.
I know what the ribbing is about, I played HS football many moons ago and remember how it was..

There is only one important game on my docket this week and it's on Monday night Soldier Field. This is the game we get to see if the Bears are the real deal or if they are fakes. The Pack is a damned good team (and it truly pains me to admit that) and we'll see if the new improved Bears O can stand up to the D of the Packers. Also, can Green Bay manage to survive a sack-happy Bears defense, especially considering how many sacks they gave up last year? The winner of the NFC North may well be decided this Monday.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Hey CB sorry for any guff I caused. I know how it can get. I am a Falcons season ticket holder lol! 40 yard line, row 1 Falcons bench! i can only imagine at how much crap you catch over rivalries. I for one, actually rooted for the Saints against the Vikings last year and am glad they got their championship after, what was it, 44 years? and it couldn't have come at a better time for that city. I have a lot of family in Meterie (spelling?) lol and am good friends with a lot of new orleans bands....Kirk from Crowbar, Sammy from Acidbath and Goatwhore, Ben Falgoust, Mike Williams, Gary Mader and most notably Phillip Anselmo. So my roots are actually pretty deep in your town. I was born in Georgia however so my loyalties lie in Atlanta. Fan for over 30 years, cant turn back now! hahaa. Maybe next time I am in NOLA i will have to look ya up! Anyways, best of luck to your team during Sundays game. We aint the same team as last year so you should have your hands a bit more full in the Superdome.

That's fine, I have no problem with that. I am just saying give credit where credit is due. Hell, I understand rivalries. I despise the Steelers and the Patriots but I will admit they were good for a long stretch. And the Falcons are damn good as well, having a pretty good QB and defense, as you said. But they still have to prove against the Saints. Everyone does. They're not champs for nothing, and they're defending that title well so far, though they did get a scare on Monday night. The season is only 2 weeks old, a lot can happen. Personally, before the season started, I picked the Falcons to be in the final four of the NFC, along with the Saints, Giants, and Cowboys. (Yes, I know the last one is making me look stupid.) Make no mistake, I am not a Saints fan, though I was happy they won the title. The way things look, the NFC championship will probably be Saints vs. Falcons. (With one of them being a wild card, of course.)

(2-0! I know the season is young but its the Chiefs! Wow. I always give credit where it is due. Win or lose, I am a falcons fan though. I believe. hahaha.

That's to be respected. You're a true fan when you're with the team through good or bad. I grew up in Northeast Ohio, I know. (The Browns!) However, I live in South Georgia now (Albany) and I do casually cheer the Falcons on. I will always be a Jets fan first though. Followed by the Titans and Browns. That's why I hate the Steelers, Patriots, and dislike the Colts. Rivalries. But my high school team was called the Falcons, and had the same logo, so that's another reason. Did I mention I hate the Steelers? :P

As for this week, I think the Jets will beat Miami, but it will be a good game. And bye weeks start, right? Or is that week 4?

Albany cool. I know where you are. I am in Savannah. They force the Jaguars on us down here. To heck with that. i am a Georgian and will have nothing to do with rooting for Florida football lol. The Jets huh? Cool. I used to live in Brooklyn and it was always a Jets/ Giants fight lol. You were usually ok unless you wore a Red Sox hat. I will take the Jets over Miami as well, however, Revis....I dunno. He has been getting burnt a little here and there. Hope he lives up to that fat contract. I think Byes have already begun with this week? Not sure.

Revis had a good year last year. The hassles over his contract were unnecessary, and I do believe he got overpaid a bit, but he was the best at his job last season, so I can't blame him for trying to cash in. They all do. But now, his hamstring is giving him trouble, but hopefully it's minor. And he already got picked on by T.O., though the Jets don't face the Bengals until week 12. But I think Revis will have Owens covered without a problem.

Yeah, I too think Revis will cover Owens like a blanket.

Well Falcons vs. Saints in done...
HOLY $^#%! That's what you call a nail-biter. Falcons win by 3 in the Super Dome. First time since the Super Dome reopened, if memory serves me correctly. Great game regardless who won.

NOW they can be called Aints once again. :P

And how about them Cowboys?! LMAO. They finally played like their asses were on the line...

Cleveland is 0-3... :(

That Titans-Giants game was good. I checked ESPN.com and I got 4 different scores! 19-10, 19-0, 29-10 and 26-10. Which was the real score???

Now, if the Jets get it done tonight, it'll be a good weekend.

Though I am rooting for them, I have the sinking feeling Da Bears will collapse against the Packers tomorrow...

Nail biter I certainly agree..
That was one of the best games I have watched since last years Super Bowl..
Kudos to Atlanta and their fans on a well fought victory!

BANNED!!! LOL  ;)

Honestly they could lose all the games this year and they would not be considered aints.. They have that SB win behind them last year and that is forever in football history.

Dallas won.. crap..
Favre came back with the Vikings and won.. Good for the "old man" (he is a year older than I... CRAP THAT MEANS I AM OLD TOO.. LOL)
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).
