TIme for week 2 thoughts. I like doing this because it gives everyone something to talk about during the week..

This just in: Ryan Grant may not be as missed as everyone thought in the Packer backfield. THen again, it WAS Buffalo...how have they not been demoted to the CFL yet?
Brett Favre is bad and old. Bet retirement ain't looking so bad now? Even with AP ripping off 145 yards, they still only got one TD...and that's only because Miami turned it over on like the 3 yard line! Percy Harvin can't come back fast enough. Props to Miami for the win.
THe Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0. Wait, what? Really? I guess Matt Cassel wasn't as overrated as some of us thought. Oh, never mind. They were playing Cleveland.
How bout them Cowboys? Tons of talent, not enough coaching from the actual coaches. I think it's time for Jerry Jones to find an actual GM for the team. THe head coach got the kiss of death, too: the ever dooming "vote of confidence"! By the way, Mike Martz is a flipping genious. He has honestly managed to turn that Bears offense into a coherent unit. If the D-line can get more pressure on QBs, the North may belong to the Monsters of the Midway once again.
Atlanta may be the best team in the NFC. THe Cardinals...well, how far they have fallen. SO I suppose you take this bowout with a can of salt. Matt Ryan is damned good though. I see the Falcons doing the Dirty BIrd all the way to the NFC title game this year.
In another sign of the Apocolypse, Tampa is 2-0. Jimmy Claussen will be starting for Carolina next week. Hopefully he will survive the experience. Am I the only one that misses those bright orange unies from the 70's and 80's?
Hey, guess what Philly? You have a QB controversy! I never thought I'd say this...but Michael Vick was VERY impressive this week. Not only is he still quick, but he had great pocket presence and showed poise and a strong, accurate arm. Kolb may be the QB of the future in Philly, but Vick will start somewhere else next year. Oh, and the Philly defense needs to work on hanging on to leads a little better. How do you almost lose to Detroit with only 5 minutes left? OK, Detroit is improving, but still...
In the Lack of Offense Bowl, Cincy managed to stave off Baltimore. Is it just me, or has Cincy's offense actually gotten WORSE with the addition of TO? Batmand and Robin better dig out some Batarangs for the next game or Cincy may never score 20 points again.
Note to Jeff Fisher: next time you play make sure that your team knows what jerseys you are wearing so they will get the correct players the ball. SEVEN turnovers? Seriously? Nice job by the Steelers D. On the down side, Dennis Dixon tore up his knee so Pittsburgh has to decide which scrub...er...sub sucks less: Byron Leftwich or Charlie Batch. My money is on Terry Bradshaw coming out of retirement and outperforming both of them.
Proving that Pete Carroll isn't an NFL god, the Broncos beat up on Seattle. Blasphemers!
In the Festival of Utter Suckage game, the Rams managed to come from ahead to lose to the pathetic Oakland Raiders. Rumors have it that Al Davis is already looking to hire a new head coach. Until Davis gives up his post as GM, the Raiders will NEVER be relevant. Or maybe they can increase his Exelon patches...
J! E! T! S! JETS! JETS! JETS! You don't suppose Rex Ryan reveled in THAT win do you? Oh, and someone found LaDanian Tomlinson's legs and gave them back to him. He is looking like himself again. Nice to see. I liked him. Hey Tom Brady, you sucked. Oh wait, you already admitted that...
Showing that the order of nature is the best way, older Manning brother beat up on younger Manning brother. Can someone tell me how Archie Manning, rated by most experts as the worst NFL quarterback in history, can spawn two NFL superstars? Must have come from their mom's side. THe Colts D looked much improved...and Brandon Jacobs needs to work on his throwing motion. "I meant to throw it at the bench." Wow, dude. Your aim truly sucks.
In a true surprise, SF nearly managed to beat the Saints. It was a fun game to watch, with great defense, Frank Gore running over everything, a 2 point instant replay to tie the game. I am concerned about the Saints O-line...they just can't seem to run the ball for squat. The Niners may be the sleeper of the season, but they really need to work on consistency.
For next week: the oldest rivalry in the NFL is renewed! Packers-Bears baby! And it MEANS something!
