This is bad comedy. Jay Cutler was never a bad QB, he just needed time to adjust to the situation he was in. Nothing proven to me yet, if they keep their win streak alive then yeah, they're good, but still they've got a long way to go. Especially next week.

HOLY $^#%! That's what you call a nail-biter. Falcons win by 3 in the Super Dome. First time since the Super Dome reopened, if memory serves me correctly. Great game regardless who won.
Nail biter I certainly agree..
That was one of the best games I have watched since last years Super Bowl..
Kudos to Atlanta and their fans on a well fought victory!Rodimus Prime wrote:NOW they can be called Aints once again.
BANNED!!! LOL![]()
Honestly they could lose all the games this year and they would not be considered aints.. They have that SB win behind them last year and that is forever in football history.
Dallas won.. crap..
Favre came back with the Vikings and won.. Good for the "old man" (he is a year older than I... CRAP THAT MEANS I AM OLD TOO.. LOL)
LOL! Good game CB! Wow...I guess that makes us legit huh? Really, Sean Payton GAVE us that game. Don't get me wrong, not to take from the Falcons AWESOME gameplay, Matt Ryans near perfect performance and wow did we keep your defense on the field or what....but Payton....Who goes for a field goal on first and goal? Even to WIN? Man, just keep running the ball, keep it on the ground. If you cant pond it in in 3, take the dang field goal. Wow. Good game for sure.

A friend of mine works for Fox 8 as a master controller and he told me this yesterday afternoon while we were chatting, They (meaning the NFL) were telling both head coaches and the station that the game would be cut off at 3:15 no matter what, and when Hartley went for that kick it was at 3:14.. They were scrambling to end the game and not get cut off.
However when it hit 3:15 the game did not get cut off. The people at the station were pissed because they were scrambling to try and keep the game on after 3:15 and when they did not cut it everyone freaked at the studio.
That is why it became "hurry up" around 3:12..
That is what I was told..
Dunno how much truth is in it though..

Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.

Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I don't know much about relationships between the NFL and TV stations and networks, but even if that threat was legit, Sean Payton should have still decided on what was best for the team at that point in the game. Which was, as was said, run the ball for 3 plays and then kick, if necessary.
If he bowed to the supposed pressure, then it was his fault. If he just made a stupid decision, then it was also his fault. If this cut off threat was legit, and he had gone with 4 plays instead of one and passing the time limit, even if the game had been cut off, it's not like it would have cost him his job. Especially not after a Super Bowl win.
Bottom line, either way Sean Payton screwed up.

Yeah, Payton is a great coach. He has more than proven that. We all do bonehead crap sometimes in the heat of the moment. Mike Smith is a great coach too, however, his decision to go for it on 4th and 4 (or 6) on the NO. 43 was a bad decision. I admire the kahones tho. Play to WIN. If you aren't playing to win, at all cost, go home. IMO. Best damn game I have seen in a long time. A battle all the way around.

In today's NFL, who's more important to a team in general, a quarterback or a running back?
I know there are several variables to this, such as how is the offensive line made up, what defense they're playing, what's the weather like, etc. But if you had to choose one position for any general game, which would you say is a must have?

You can't win games by the ground.... that's atleast what I think. The QB is always in the spotlight, he's going to be the one who always gets the glory. Under that much pressure, I think the QB is the most important position in the NFL.. you don't have one and everything else unfolds.

A good running back is important, no doubt, but a good QB is more valuable, IMO. They make or break a team. You can get away with a sub-par RB and succeed, but not a sub-par QB.
Of course I have to shout out my boy Vick in Philly! Look at the difference he makes!

My personal opinion of Vick is that he's apiece of **** dog killer and should rot in hell, but I have no problem admitting that he's a damn good QB. He deserves to start for the Eagles.
Earlier today (9/30) I was listening to ESPN Radio, and the Colin Herd show, which had a sub host. The guy got a phone interview with Jim Mora Jr., the former coach of the Falcons, and they were talking about Michael Vick, and it was brought up by the host that if Vick was the same way in ATL as he is in Philly, the Falcons would have won a couple of Super Bowls. Basically, he was accusing Mora of not "creating a favorable playing environment" for Vick in Atlanta. My question to you long time Falcon/Vick fans: Do you agree with this? Personally, I thought it was very rude and bullying of the host to just push Mora around, who, up until then, was very friendly and answered questions.

I hate to disagree with everyone but I honestly think that if you want to see the most important players on the field, you have 5 of them: the offensive line. THe QB may have the pressure of leading the team, but if he's on his ass, he can't do his job. A running back could be Walter Payton, Jim Brown, and Barry Sanders combined, but without an O Line, he goes no where.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

I agree with the exception of Sanders in your statement. That man could turn water into wine, and he did it for many seasons with the Lions.
As far as which is best QB vs. RB, I would have to go with the QB if all other variables are equal. Especially, if the QB is one that offers the threat of the run. So, I have to agree with Rodimus Prime on his statement about Michael Vick. I too think he is a piece of thrash, but he is also a great QB with a lot of facets and threats to his game.

Michael Vick is a sack of sh!t who is going to burn in the deepest, darkest, hottest corner of Hell one day. BUt I also agree, he is very good. I have noticed a major change in him as well since he got the starting job back. He has always had a a great arm, but his accuracy is much improved. He also doesn't seem to be looking to be "THE" guy anymore. His passing has improved and he isn't looking to run first and pass second anymore. His pocket presence is very much improved. Before he went to the hole, he was a mediocre-to-average passer with amazing running skills. His passing numbers were never that good and his accuracy was questioned. Now, however, he is an accurate passer, stays in the pocket much longer, and may be more of a threat than ever before.

Vick aint nothin. Nothing at all. He has not played a power defense yet. When he does, he will be exposed for the lucky fraud he is. I better hush before I say too much and get in trouble.
I know for a fact, the most important Person on the offense is the QB. Its like a gestalt. No good head, no good success. On defense, I go with the Defensive ends. I mean, look at Dwight Freeney. He can change the momentum of a whole game with a little pressure. He is a beast. All of it really comes down to owners too. So many things make a good football team happen. It's a helluva game for sure.

Yeah, you're right. If he can continue to hone his pocket-passing skills he's gonna be better than ever.

Sure. I liked him up until the point he was killing animals. I never liked the fact it was always the Vick show when he was in Atlanta. He is a ball hog. I will say it now, he will NEVER win ANY team a SB. And you can take that to the safe deposit box. IMO he should have NEVER been able to come back to the NFL. Forgive him as a human, yes. Let him make millions and be idolized by children??? no.

I agree with not letting him back into the NFL. He doesn't deserve to have the opportunity to make all that money and be a public figure - and "inspiration" to children - after he showed and approved of such disregard for life in general and the laws of this society (which aren't perfect, but they're there nonetheless). I, however, disagree about forgiving him as a person. He's a worthless waste of space who needs to disappear. I'd rather watch Jim Sorgi start every Sunday. Or Bring back Ryan Leaf.

Sheesh guys, how is life up there on your pedestals?

I understand people hate him and I know nothing will change that opinion. Is what he did a piece-of-shit thing to do? There's no doubt about that. But he's served his time, lost millions of dollars, and had his career, life, and image just-about destroyed.
I think he's paid for his crimes. I'm of the opinion that if you're convicted of a crime, you serve your sentence and put in your time. After that, your sentence is done and should be allowed to live your life again. To say that he shouldn't be allowed back in the NFL isn't right, IMO.

Pretty good. Haven't killed any animals lately.

Awww...poor guy.

And you're entitled to it. But, I disagree. I guess it all depends on how one values the seriousness of his crimes. Personally, I think after murder, child molestation and rape the worst thing a person can do is torture and kill animals. That's my POV. According to that, that asshole should have served a lot more serious time than the flimsy 2 years he got in a place where he was treated as a hero by the rest of the inmates. Yeah, I've never been to jail, so I can't really say how bad it really is to have your freedom taken away and eat food only a NYC rat would find tolerable. But in opposition I think of the pain and suffering those dogs went through when they were put in a cage to fight for their lives or face just as cruel punishment if they didn't, and when they gave it their all and still couldn't satisfy their "masters" they were horribly tortured to death. And Vick, although never being convicted of being directly and physically involved (though I would bet he was a few times) he enabled this to happen for a long time with the millions of dollars he didn't lose, and by that action gave his approval and encouragement for the abuse and murder of defenseless animals. Not only did he not deserve to be let back into his lush life, he should have done at least 10 times the time he did, in a much harsher prison. Then again, it's the fault of the judicial system, not Vick's, that he got off so easy. But in the end, IMO the guy is a piece of garbage, and I wouldn't hesitate to spit in his face if I ever have the displeasure of meeting him.
Now. Onto happier topics. Best game of this weekend? I'm really looking forward to Baltimore and Pittsburgh. The squealers have a damn good D, but hopefully they get beat at their own game this time.

Have to disagree on the Steelers game. A big part of the game is going to be how healthy Ray Rice is for the Ravens...but the Ravens offense reminds me a lot of the Bears offense the last few years. The Bears are going up against a VERY beat up Giants team who is without their two primary pass rushers and may be just a mess as far as chemistry goes. Those are really the only two marquis matchups this week, though the Miami-New England game may be interesting...everything else looks like it could just be kinda boring.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
