So, should Favre respond to those allegations one way or another? Confirm or deny his junk? Or would he just be validating the accusations if he did?

Woah there buddy! The Browns actually have a decent defense....it's their offense thats lacks luster. And they were doing fine with Seneca Wallace...until John "The Predator" Abraham took him out. 20 points and beating the hell out of jake Delomme (spelling?) is good enough for me. A road W is a road W no matter how you have to get it. Besides, Kroy Beirmann's defensive play was stunning. Possibly defensive play of the year.

How about dem Cowboys! :P

Anyway, that was the real Toilet Bowl today, and someone had to crawl out of it.

The Jets took care of business, as if anything else was expected, and the Patriots got damn lucky against the Ravens. Of course, the Cleveland Clowns were abused by Rapistberger once again.

But the 49ers got their first win!!! :APPLAUSE:

Now, tomorrow night, if the Titans can stomp the Jaguars, it'll still be a good weekend. I just wish Da Bears had won...

And I know this isn't the NFL, but I was so happy to see Ohio State get their asses handed to them. They're the most overrated team in college football.

Just like the Titans-Broncos game...

Speaking of whom, they just walked all up and down the Jaguars last night. At least Vince Young did for about 5 minutes...

So what's the best game of the upcoming weekend, you think?

And what about the new rule passed by the NFL today regarding the punishment for helmet-to-helmet contact?

Mn, here is how I feel about this Sunday's illicit contact. Falcons/ Eagles game: Dunta Robinson did NOT make an "illegal" hit on Jackson. A BRUTAL hit? Yes. However, I as well as 90% of the experts say that hit was clean. Robinson was fined 50 thousand dollars for a clean hit. As far as the "defenseless" receiver bit goes....what the hell EXACTLY is a defenseless receiver? I could have SWORE that a CB's job is to stop the receiver from completing the play within certain boundaries. (The hit was at contact of the catch so it was clean.) ok....I am sure most of us who talk on this thread talk on football boards, and everyone is complaining about players being hurt by contact and, yes, I ALWAYS hate seing hurt players (no matter the team...well, except Mike Vick :-$ ) but COME ON. This is FOOTBALL. not golf. you know the risk. You have known the risks of this game all along. all this soft stuff has to be worked out so that it does not effect the game too much or, before you know it, we will be watching flag football on Sunday. Only thing i can think of is tougher helmets and pads. I mean, during a baseball game, thier is a CHANCE a batter will hit a ball right into a pitchers face and remove his teeth or possibly kill him. Does this mean ban all baseballs? Should baseball players use tennis balls due to the "possible" risks? I doubt it. So, in my opinion, these players are a little too protected sometimes. Hate to be the one to say it but, if I join the Police force, I will be prepared to fight and be shot at and possibly, have to take a mans life. And such applies to so much we do in life. So, I say, stop with the fines and rules and just play the damn game.

And Brian Vangorder....you are on my ISH list for playing SOFT against Philly and making corn on the Kolb look like Tom Brady. We have the talent all day, but no brains in the booth. Go Falcons.

James Harrison is contemplating retirement because he can't hurt people anymore. Is this asshole for real? Seriously? Good riddance, then.

As for the new ruling and punishment, I say it's about damn time. I am all for hard hits, as long as they're below the neck. I mean, a blatant helmet-to-helmet hit is just wrong. The player who is like Harrison, a "headhunter" doesn't belong on a playing field. If he's just out to hurt others, he should just get it over with and become a common street criminal. The NFL has enough those anyway.

And to those who disagree with this I say, let me go get a sledgehammer. Then you stand up straight, and I will take a swing at your guts first. Then once you recover, you can put on an NFL regulation helmet, and I will take a swing at your head. See which one you prefer.

Full-speed tackles, push-outs, and even spears are fine, but clotheslines, horse collars, face masks, and helmet-to-helmet contact are not. After all, these players are getting paid a lot fo money to play rough, and they wear protection for a reason. But crippling and debilitating another player for the "sport" is just wrong.

I agree with you for sure. Dunta Robinson did NOT lead with his helmet and his hit was below the neck and got fined 50 grand for a LEGAL hit though. They just based the fine on the outcome of the tackle which in my opinion is silly. i think that is where the¥ will soften the game too much. Horsecollars and chop blocking and helmet to helmet tackles are indeed bogus and should not be tolerated. But, it is a rough sport by nature. People know the risks.

Yeah, you're right about Robinson. But Goodell (whom I really don't like) probably thought it unfair to fine one player and not another. I also agree that it's a rough sport, which is why I mentioned several "rough" hits that should be allowed. But action that can lead to paralysis such as face mask, horse collar, and especially head contact is just stupid. Why would a player - in his right mind - want to hurt another player who's in it for the same reasons (assuming they're all in it to win a ring). That player (Harrison for example) wouldn't appreciate much if that was done to him.

I also heard this new rule change used as an argument against the impending schedule change to 18 regular season games. Someone on the radio said "Tightening rules to promote safety and extending the season by 2 games at the same time doesn't make sense." Of course I am paraphrasing, but that was pretty much it. To this I answer, if a player has it in his head that he can go out and obliterate another player with a vicious hit to the head, it doesn't matter if there are 16 games or 18 games. That player will find an opportunity to be a jerk off and play with another player's health, livelihood, and even life. Plenty of others have been seriously injured and even paralyzed on the field because of this kind of thinking. Don't these animals ever learn? Though, truth be told, they're not really hired for their brains. Linemen aren't, anyway. Mostly only the QB is drafted on his decision-making abilities along with his arm.

OK...I wonder how bad the Browns will beat the Saints... :P

I was listening to sports radio on my way home from work this morning and I heard said that the Eagles will beat the Titans. I was a bit stunned. How the hell did they arrive at THAT conclusion? Hopefully they're all wrong, which I expect them to be.

The Jets have the week off, and the only other games I will be looking out for are the Chargers beating the Patriots, hopefully, as well as the Dolphins beating the Steelers, and the Ravens walking all over the Bills.

This will be a fun Sunday...

OK, I was kidding about the Browns-Saints, but holy ****! I'll take it! :APPLAUSE:

As for Titans-Eagles, Old Man Collins had me scared for a bit, but as the saying goes, it's not how you start, it's how you finish. And they finished DAMN.

I'd like to say that Pittsburgh got lucky, but they didn't. That was just a good game.

It sucks to see Da Bears get beat, but oh well.

And how about the Bills taking it to the Ravens! I'm eating my words on that one. Hopefully the Ravens still win, though.

And what a shootout between the Falcons and the Bengals! Cincy OWNED that 3rd quarter! But, in the end, the scoreboard is all that matters.

And the Toilet Bowl of the week. Panthers vs. 49ers. I like Samurai Mike, but the team needs to get its **** together.

Tampa Bay: That annoying fly that just won't go away. Guess the Falcons are just gonna have to knock'em off themselves if the Cadinals can't.

Falcons won. But that comeback by the Bengals, in the 3rd, could have been avoided. Smith needs to sent out a memo that the game ends at the end of the 4th, not the half. That's how struggling teams beat good teams. A lot can happen in just five minutes of one football game.

Least they have a bye to rest up. Like it or not, giving Robinson an extra week to recover was a good thing in the long run. Hopefully, he'll be back for the Bucs. They'll need him.

Seriously Broncos? Losing 24-0 to the Raiders in the 1st freaking quarter? I think the only Football I'll be watching is myself playing Madden 11 because I don't think I want to watch another game you play this season.

One quarter isn't the end. Remember, this is the Raiders we're talking about. Honestly, I do want the Raiders to win, but the reality is, they probably don't have it in them.

31-0... glad i didn't buy any Broncos jerseys this year. Holy smokes..

In hindsight, if the Raiders and Patriots win it's...

Chiefs 4-2
Raiders 3-4
Chargers 2-5
Broncos 2-5

Which isn't all too bad.. .
