When did anyone say this would never happen? I thought it was just that Hasbro wouldnt release a realistic gun megatron in the US. That will never ever happen.

As recently as that last Platinum Megatron/Prime set, people have claimed that there'd never be a gun mode Megatron again. When Megatron figures are shown that do not turn into guns, like the G1 tank Megatron from Generations, some people lament that it's not really an accurate Megatron because it doesn't turn in to a gun; the common retort to this is that there's never going to be gun mode Megatrons again.

People on both sides are mincing words and the primary argument was Hasbro in all of this. This isnt a Hasbro release so its not part of the argument.

I hope they work something out eventually. And although I find it unlikely, because Porsche is being such a stickler about this, MP Bumblebee gives me hope. No one thought that would happen, either.
EDIT: And, hey, if they can reach some deal, maybe that'll green light an actual licensed MP Cliffjumper.

I for one am beginning to sense a trend here....

They have inside info on what Takara is going to do. Now that many of the more well known unlicensed product brands have their own MP style ecosystems, they rush and try to get their own product out before the official piece is announced. That's basically all there is to it and why you see these spurts of the same character in the same style being announced by multiple brands.Cyberpath wrote:I don't understand why the 3P make "MP" of characters that Takara is very likely to make. And somehow all the 3P companies always seem to work on the same characters at the same time. It doesn't bother me I just find it curious. (I'm surprised Takara doesn't do anything about it though. Some of those 3P figures look pretty convincing lately.) And yet none of them attempt to redo Red Alert.

Dear Death, have you ever thought of doing retro reviews? Since you started, toys have been ok to great for the most part (was there ever a review resulting in less than 5 as a score?). It would be fun to see your feelings towards MP Megs.

Would you have a friend in Japan that could, maybe, pull a Radar O'Reilly and disassemble Megs and send him to you in about 4 shipments?
