Did anybody already point this out?
That stand that he's on looks like it could be the detachable stock accessory. Yeah?
Maybe combined with the silencer/barrel piece?

Maybe it hides inside the gun's body.Sigma Magnus wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Something else of notice that I haven't seen anyone mention yet: The robot mode chest is fake altmode kibble. It's not made from either side of the gun mode.
...? Where does it come from?

(NOTE: Fan digibash, not mine)
The proportions look pretty close to the onscreen model, closer than any 3rd party attempt I've ever seen. Despotron, Mightron, and Apollyon all look too chunky and bulky. G1 Megatron's look was more streamlined than any of them.

And somehow all the 3P companies always seem to work on the same characters at the same time. It doesn't bother me I just find it curious. (I'm surprised Takara doesn't do anything about it though. Some of those 3P figures look pretty convincing lately.) And yet none of them attempt to redo Red Alert.
Anyhow, if this is legit, neat! I need to get that 5G at some point here.
If that is indeed the case, a Takara Trailbreaker maybe next after Grapple.
I realized the other day that Trailbreaker/Hoist are the last 2-for-1 mold left in the '84-'85 roster. After them, all that's left are unique characters that have no retool/repaint opportunities within the fiction itself. That said, I'm not sure if that makes them more or less likely to be next.

Jazz/Stepper Blaster/Broadcast
2-in-1 in this case means "with alternate heads and parts". Both Blaster and Jazz were indeed retooled for The Headmasters as Twincast and Stepper respectively, but the molds themselves were hardly changed.
with that, we're forgetting one: Skids & Crosscut.

I prefer a tank over a gun any day. A Megatron with both modes though would be awesome.

Shockwave, definitely. Magnus, I'm not too sure. There's a lot of detail on him but it's not really as defined, possibly because he's just so big. There are a goodly number of spots with lotsa detail but you also notice that there are big spaces of flatness which still has detail, It's just they are big and flat too. Wheeljack is perfection! Tracks I like well enough but I agree on the point of the leg panels.

A good example of having nice detail while still looking very G1 could be Legends Blurr too right? I was really impressed by all that sculpted detail and it didnt take away from any of the toy's G1 goodness
