There's also Mastermind Creations. I have their Hexatron. REALLY want their Carnifex (what a perfect name).

Only other 3P I've done business with is BadCube. Bought their Wardog (Warpath). Very clever but holy cow! Massively over engineered and complex. I wanna have fun transforming these thing's not feel I need an engineering degree. Plus it took damn near a year to get them to finally send me a part which snapped in the shoulder. Straight outta the box, no real pressure. *Snap* arm falls off. Really bad feeling from £100+ figure

Pardon the delay Big Grim, but YES, DX-9 did make Gerwalt, and Chigurgles (or Chigurgh..or space choo-choo). I think their War In Pocket line is pretty popular.

MMC. Hexatron is want, Carnifex is want!! I mean, seriously, they look great!! Even their DJD stuff!!

Back to Megatron, the weekend came and went with no news :-(

It's pics like this that make me wish the MP-10 mold had been about an inch smaller height-wise, so as to let the Autobot Cars all come up to Prime's stomach grill instead of his waistline. The trailer can stay the same size to let the cars fit inside it, but if the cab robot were just a tad shorter, this and many other scenes could be recreated more believably:

And yes, I'm aware of the official size chart. I'm one of the guys always pointing it out whenever this point comes up. But while adhering to that chart might seem fine on paper, seeing it in real life, however, kinda sorta puts things into another perspective, with Optimus towering over the majority of his 1984 troops a little more than he ought to from a comfortable position.

The toys do reach his grills-abs. The scale in this "MP Jazz" pic is off compared to the cartoon and MP cars so far; which is another reason why I think it's likely fake. (Also this is the Hasbro edition of MP-10.)

Going by ScottyP's theory from earlier in the thread, we may just have a Masterpiece Springer on the way. I've received several preorder notifications for a few different 3rd Party MP Springer on the way.

One nice thing about 3rd Party Jazz toys is that so far they all picked a different car mode. so I hope that Takara has no issue with getting a Porsche 935 license.

But if other people want to make him an 918, 960, Cayman GT4, or even a 959 I'd not complain to much.

I hope that if / when Takara make Hound they also make Detritus.

I also hope the Transformation scheme for an MP Jazz gives you the option for door wings (or not) I like my Jazz's with Door wings.

If they forced you to only have no door wings I'd be a bit annoyed.
I think it displays better shows of his deco on the doors and also works better for Stepper with the flames on the doors too.

So this is the next thread that's gonna get locked. Great!

Why? This is a rumor thread about upcoming MP releases. A theory was put forth earlier that the 3rd party market tries to get their version of a character out before Takara does. Right now there are a lot of Trailbreaker and Springer options being put forth. That leads one to think, according to the theory, that Takara may be soon coming out with a Springer and/or Trailbreaker.

It's not that they allow it (they don't), it's just that there really isn't anything they can do to stop those 3rd parties from stealing the official IP, given how differently toy/IP laws work in China.

Well, if HasTak had felt strongly about it they could have gone after the American shops that sell them.

I'm team Wingless_Jazz. The wings feels too fancy on him. Also not having them differentiates him further from Prowl and the others, I think.

Well, if HasTak had felt strongly about it they could have gone after the American shops that sell them.

While it might be a possibility for fans to configure him that way, I am pretty sure that Takara will not give him those wings for the official configuration of his eventual MP toy since he didnt have it in the G1 cartoon.

Yeah, the most ideal option would be an either-or option, allowing the door wings to either remain on the shoulders like on the G1 toy or for them to somehow disappear (fold away, detach, or whatever) like on the cartoon model.

Then again, it's also possible Takara could go full businessman on Jazz and release two different MPs (one with a cartoon-accurate deco and no door wings on the shoulders, and one with a toy-accurate deco and remolded to have the door wings firmly stuck on the shoulders) to drive completionists nuts. :twisted:

going off the multiple third party release thing before the official comes out, the same could be said about mp megatron. theres been 3 or 4 released so far

This is Takara we're talking about. They'll find a way to hide those door wings for the sake of MP show-accuracy or die trying. :-P

i thought jazz had wings in the cartoon. yep im wrong he didnt have wings. they might make it so that you can have them out or hide them if you want to, like under the windshield

That's what I'd hope for as Jazz should have the wings out in my opinion. It'd be great to have the option.
