It has been discussed many times, even in this thread already. Personally I believe it has nothing to do with the literal definition of bluestreak. Point out one instance where he talked "a bluestreak" in the cartoon or Marvel comics, because it's a character trait he doesn't have.CrankyOldTruck wrote:What always got me was that people always bitched about the G1 toy being silver, except for the very brief original run with him being blue and silver, when in all reality, his name has absolutely nothing to do with his color and everything to do with his personality. Does the phrase "Talking up a blue-streak" mean anything to anyone or am I just so damn old that I'm the only one that knows that that is where his name really comes from?
You don't hear anyone complaining about Silverbolts name, do you? There's not a lick of silver on him. Why is that?
Sorry but this is just one debate that always pissed me off and just further proved to me how blatantly ignorant and stupid so many folks in the fandom can be.
Alternity Prowl/Bluestreak?! That'd be awesomeCobotron wrote:Actually the Nissan z350 IS the newest evolution of that car.
These colors are pretty close.
Edit: Never got why they gave it to Alternity Megatron and none of the Datsun brothers.

I thought you would, they really have tried to take cues from those 80's versions! You can really tell with the rear quarter windows. And the body lines. And the shortened rear/front overhangs. It's good stuff to be a car fan nowadays.Cobotron wrote:Well I stand happily corrected.
Just had to look it up.
That baby looks even more akin to it's early 80's predecessor. And this one would make a sweeta$$ Bluestreak!
I was in LA (the land of cars) this past weekend. I was eating dinner with a group of friends, and in mid sentence, when a silver 84' or 5' Datsun Z rolled by. I stopped, head popped up and followed. Everyone laughed that that car got my attention. They laughed even harder when I told them It's my favorite transformer.
I'm really excited for 18B. Really!

This belief doesn't make me ignorant or stupid. So again, you can state your thoughts without making blanket statements like that. Many people share your view on the whole "Bluestreak" debate and I didn't say anything like that when their opinion differed mine.
And FYI: HasTak never released him in blue. It's a common misconception.
There you have it. Should have. Based on a bio that holds little ground for the popular media that drove the franchise. Besides, that bio holds true to Blurr, but not Bluestreak.Desslok2201 wrote:I really don't want to step in something here, but..his original tech spec says exactly that- he talks a blue streak to keep his mind off of the fact that the Decepticons destroyed his home. They chose to have him as a minor background character, but he should have had diarrhea of the mouth.shajaki wrote:It has been discussed many times, even in this thread already. But I was totally wrong about the news post. I'm the new guy on the block so I got defensive. My bad, and no worries
No one gave that evidence when it was under debate before, so thanks for providing that.sol magnus wrote:I'm pretty sure he talked excessively in issues 4 and issues 10-11 of the Marvel series (written by bio/character creator Bob Budiansky) for other examples.

Problem with disagreeing is, he doesn't have much of a personality beyond "Such senseless violence" from Transcontinental express".
I'm pretty sure he talked excessively in issues 4 and issues 10-11 of the Marvel series (written by bio/character creator Bob Budiansky) for other examples.
Also, Transformers Universe made mention of his Disperser rifle firing a devastingly powerful but somewhat inaccurate blue beam.
So there's that.
