We've gotten more G1 figures in 2015, than we did 2014, which was the actual anniversary. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened in '17. If anything, the anniversary figures will come out alongside the new movie figures. Or they'll be retailer exclusives so they don't interfere with the other lines in general.

I feel the 30th anniversary was more about celebrating 30 years of the brand. It was pretty awesome to see a year where we got toys from all the big eras like : Diaclone, G1 Takara, G1 Takatoku, Headmasters, Targetmasters, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, RID, Unicron Trilogy, new Minicons, a brand new character as a toy, and of course a new film which featured the dinobots, oh and a toy of G1 Arcee! It was a very fun year which paid great respects to the history of the brand. The sad thing is that everything I mentioned was easily available in the standard generations line while the actual 30th anniversary exclusives were all letdowns for the most part.

Duuude.... lol I'm half a decade older than the show, I *am* old. Seeing the kids watching these movies now as teenagers makes me feel REALLY old. Seeing Beast Wars kids now as adults? I feel ancient.

YES there is a rumour about an MP Megatron, related to some line drawings on the inside of Hasbro's MP Bluestreak box. .

That rumour was busted a while ago, there is no MP Megatron coming out.

I was born 2 years before beast wars opened, so if anything I was meant to grow up on Armada and such, but no it took until the first movie and animated for it to click

Energon Shockblast is awesome!

Glad you love him. Also, he's the defenitive Satellite Shockwave IMO. ROTF Legends sized is a close second.

I'm with Emerje with the light piping. I'm happy with it on deluxes and mainline figures, even Alternators Shockwave, but a Masterpiece shouldn't have a piece of translucent plastic in the back of his skull. I get why they did it, but I'd rather have him be a painted yellow eye.

And I'd go without lights and sounds as well. Makes it a little cheaper, doesn't restrict poseability. I never use the electronics in my figures, so I don't see the need for them. Again, mainline things like voyagers, sure. They're for kids. But not in Masterpieces. Look at Grimlock's hand. I'd much rather he have an opening hand over a light up sword.

Why the heck would Hasbro release Scattershot, and not the rest?

Personally, I think they will release them, even if it will be part of Generations in general, and not Combiner Wars specifically. Maybe they'll be alternate figures during Titan Wars. If they don't release the Technobot limbs, I'll use Scattershot to combine with my leftover limb-bots, Rook, Alpha Bravo, Off Road, and Blast Off.

Back on topic, somewhat, was there ever an all-purple Energon Shockblast officially released?

And if I were to get a Micron Densetsu Shockwave (Tidal Wave), can he be considered part of a Shockwave collection?

I have been asking myself this too. I cam up with "no" as an answer since he is not shockwave proper but a robot by the same name, and doesnt really have any callbacks to the G1 character aside from the purple colour. Kinda like Beast Wars Prowl and G1 Prowl. But that is for my collection (and lists).

The only thing I don't like about Shockblast is the giant gun arm. It's almost too big and awkward. I feel like the could've left out the soundbox, added an elbow and still had it be large enough for the alt modes.

Yeah, I came up with the same reasoning, more or less. They're same in name and color only. Makes me want a CW Tidal Wave. Titan Class, get on it!
