I haz an Ironhide shipped from Nippon Yasan and yes the back on that 3rd party ratchet looks horrible from the back. Give me butt wheels anyday!

I agree. Thats just a pile of fail. I really dont see why anyone would chose this 3rd party over the official product. Even from the front the lower legs, bulky shoulders, lower part of the chest, waist, feet NONE of that crap is accurate at all. And lets not get on that back view....

Now the only minuses I have from the TT is the gut (a slight fold would've worked wonders) and the hip panels. Thats it. The rest is fine to me.

So many great photos!

I believe Takara-Tomy did a helluva job with a very challenging figure. Without compromising the vehicle mode in any way, they got Ironhide amazingly close to the cartoon model. It'd be literally impossible to have a chest/torso look any more like the cartoon without seriously butchering his van mode, considering his chest in the cartoon looked more like a microwave oven than a vehicle.

He's a very clean figure with great articulation and in my opinion a real Masterpiece. There's a four-part chinese review on YouTube now, and this one covers the articulation pretty well (he covers the torso swivel so fast that if you blink you'll miss it):
