The G1 toy is just a friendly reminder that these toys were something else before they were Transformers.SillySpringer wrote:The G1 toy had a face on vehicle mode???

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

For starters, MP-03 Starscream was green. The head gimmick left much to be desired plus his head was too narrow.

But Ryan, back when he was released, it was the "apex" of toy engineering. I dare to say, you felt it to back then. Same with MP-01. As for the "realistic(?)" colors, I was referring to the HB "heroic" F-15 acrobatic jet colors. Though MP-03 and HB MP, I tend to switch them vice-versa.

I still think MP 01 is an apex of engineering, especially when you include all the extra detail he has. And he doesnt have a peehole.

I am guessing the first would be the original G1 Optimus/ Battle Convoy?

To be fair (to you), he should have written it as "MP-1" (no zero).william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Reread his post in full.william-james88 wrote:zodconvoy wrote: MP-10 is great and is probably the second best OP toy ever

Oh man, it gets abit confusig with those 1s and 0s and their order

I'm sorry but mp-1 to me is a mess. His robot mode looks amazing but is plagued with knee joints breaking and his head popping off. His proportions are also a Lil off.zodconvoy wrote:fenrir72 wrote:william-james88 wrote:fenrir72 wrote:

MP-01 Convoy is the ultimate Optimus Prime toy. Period. MP-10 is great and is probably the second best OP toy ever but it exists because they couldn't make anything as awesome as MP-01 again so they reset the scale of the line. Look, I love MP-10 and keep him with my other MP's but MP-01 is the centerpiece of my rather comprehensive Optimus Prime display. If Prime walked down the street, he'd look like MP-01. THE Masterpiece Optimus Prime.
-Kanrabat- wrote:Owning both MP-01 and MP-10, I think I love them both equaly. MP-10 is really cartoon accurate, have a perfect vehicle mode, and is quite fun to transform. MP-01 is HUGE and HEAVY and despite his horrible vehicle mode, he have that "charisma" to make up for it.
I wonder how a MP Irinhide, done with MP-01 scale and mentality, would look like? Especially with a truckload of diecast?
Too much unnecessary tech detail that Ironhide didn't have.
