No mold changes between Hasbro and TakaraTomy Grimlock unfortunately. So expect reports of Japanese Grimlocks being busted some time soon.

I hope this changes for the subsequent mold uses like the Gold version coming up on Hasbro's side.

I like all the new re-paints, I hope they re-paint the deluxe Grimlock into a Decepticon, I like the mold by I don't need a green Grimlock in my life.

Or was, as of episode 8, but he's a Decepticon for the first seven episodes.

Just get the figure, cover up the

's with

's and pretend it's pre-Episode 1 Decepticon Grimlock (or give him a new name if necessary).

I saw the pre-order notice on the boards here while I was at work, and thought "meh, I can wait till tonight when I get home from work". BUT NO. They're gone. S'not a big deal though, I'll just snap up HLJ's pre-order whenever it pops up.

Takara Tomy designer Shogo Hasui has shared on Twitter an image showing the true meaning of army building with your Transformers figures, as the next Transformers Adventure toys are lined up prior to retail release: TAV17 Shrapnel and TAV18 Bombshell!

Both are the Takara decos for the previously released Hasbro figures, Skrapnel under the Generations line, and Bombshell in the current Combiner Wars - check out the image below, and compare them to their Hasbro cousins in their Seibertron.com galleries here and here.

Are these deluxe class (sorry, haven't paid much attention to the RID/TAV line at all until now)?

I hope there's a Kickback fig planned for the future; hate to have to use the FOC fig as a stand-in. Particularly because I don't own one.

think fully half the TAV releases are non-show/non-RiD based designs - you've got a whole heap of Animated and Beast Hunters moulds in there too, plus another Prime Vehicon, though this time it's the original Hasbro mould, not the Arms Micron version.

I realize no one answered about the size, these are legends size, which would be similar to the old scout class, maybe a bit smaller.

I prefer the original Gen. Skrapnel, that one has Reflector and is probably cheaper and easier to find. Not here though. Though I wish we'd see a Kickback.

Bombshell is more accurate to the G1 cartoon with the grey head, just noticed that, but I already have the CW one.
