While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.

Yesterday when these went up on TFSource, I checked BBTS and they were up there, too. Preordered 1 Nightbird and 2 of each of the others. I'm not holding out on a Hasbro release for these because I'm sure the colors for TakTomy will be better. Plus with the pedipalp/bra deal with Blackarachnia, Hasbro may not go for it. I hope Slipstream's colors happen like they did for Windblade. My Kabuki sisters are Windblade and Windshear. If made different enough, you'd have sisters. Slipstream and Jetstream.

Not every mainline TakaraTomy figure is guaranteed a Hasbro release, and vice-versa (the Club does not count).
We may not see Black Widow in the US as a retool of an Animated mold (we may see her as a BotCon figure though, as a BotCon 2001 Arcee remake
) but if my theory of Nightbird and Slipstream being pretools is correct (meaning their new parts are already built into the mold from the start), Hasbro may sneak them in one way or another.

The shipping and import fees from japan are about the same you would incur by buying from BBTS. So in the end, the only true cost that changes is the cost of the figure itself.
