Initially I wasn't impressed with the mold when I bought Hasbro Crosscut until I figured out he did actually have some shoulder articulation. And the fact you can hide most of his weaponry pretty easily so he doesn't always have to look like an insane commando. Legs are a bit fiddly for my tastes but I can live with it.
Not only will this be my very first Takara fig, but it's also my first preorder. Though I'll probably be preordering the Onslaught/Skylynx box soon as well.

In both cases you are ordering online in english using paypal. The only thing I can think of is ease of mind if something goes wrong. Of course, if its sold out in japan, than BBTS is a good place to go, but I am still wondering why it would be a go to place. And other places in japan have pile of loot systems but obviously dont sell hasbro products so I guess its because people can get both there. Still, I am unsure if most people simply dont buy from japan due to simply not knowing and thinking it could be harder, withut realising the potential massive savings.
Any colector here can quickly tell you the hundres bucks they probably saved last year from getting their takara products from japan.

Ignorance on my part. I didnt know it was available that way as I've never ordered from Japan before, and I didnt really do any research.

While it's a shame they don't have a point system, I like them. But, since I don't order much TT stuff, it's not an issue yet...

Cool, I understand. One thing though, when I mentionned getting them quicker I wasnt referring to how long it takes from bbts to one's house but from Japan to BBTS then to you. Because Takara doesnt deal directly with BBTS, they contractually cant. So BBTS has a shipment sent from japan at the same time as any importer including you and me. Which means I would get a takra toy at the same time they get it. They would then have to ship it to you. BBTS is just an extra middleman and thus, it will always be slower, but probably not by much.

Wolfman Jake wrote:I used to have it really sweet with TFSource, up until this past summer or so. I live in the suburbs of St. Paul, and their warehouse is/was located about a half hour north of me (if you drive at the speed limit) in Forest Lake. Sometimes, I could go up and pick up an order without having to wait for it to be shipped out. When I did have to wait for shipping, it would take ONE DAY to get to me, so the wait was never that bad. A few times I did have to exchange defective products as well, and being able to do so in person and get satisfaction almost immediately was terrific. However, they have a new warehouse in NEVADA that handles all the new Transformers products. Their Forest Lake, MN office still warehouses "vintage" toys, and I can still meet with someone their for business stuff, like selling off some figures, but when my stack is shipped, it's over a week before I see my figures. It might be more expensive, but their are (or were) a lot of perks for me with TFSource. At least now they got rid of the "freebies" system for points and will just convert points for purchases into store credit. That's much appreciated.

Whats the conversion rate? 1 point = $1? I've been thinking about switching to them exclusively, but wasn't sure what the point ratio was...

Ha! I WISH! No, the conversion is $0.015 (1.5 cents) per point. To give you an idea of how much you "get back" per purchase, something like MP-27 Ironhide with collectors coin, priced at $99.00, would get you about 95 points, or about $1.42.

Not on topic or anything, just wanted to say what's up to a fellow Jake from MN!

What, you too? I'm west side Jake! (West side of the Twin Cities.)
To WJ88 question on ordering from BBTS, I trust them implicitly, have been doing business with them for a very long time, they treat me and my stuff very well, have a POL feature I love. I buy enough stuff to make the POL the main selling point.
Oh, and once I figured out how to properly transform Skids's legs, he was, indeed, very awesome!

I call pack Alpha!
And no, we're NOT a conspiracy. That's ravens, not canines. (Yes, a group of ravens is called a conspiracy).
