Sexy Soundwave?
In my case, it's more like Sexy Kevin Smith...

There are atandarfs to maintain.

That pose is insulting...
Which part of the pose is actually sexualized?
Maybe it's cutesy, which may not be the most interesting way to sell the figure, but she has a third of a car on top of her. There's nothing exaggerated about her pose, her hips aren't pushed out, he back isn't arched...

Optimizzy wrote:I stand by what I said concerning the coquettish pose. You can defend the culture and mindset behind those poses if you want, but that's on you.
I mean, my opinion is my opinion. You don't have to agree.

Thats a far cry from the cute innocent pose arcee has.

That's fan art, right?
Also, doesn't use of words like 'cute' and/or 'innocent' prove the sexualized point?
Completely different contexts, so I'm not sure that comparison holds up.william-james88 wrote:No it doesnt. Babies are cute and innocent, do you believe that to be sexualized?
That's weird... Dinobot should not be nearly that big.william-james88 wrote:And also, no, its not fan art, its real.

Puppies are also cute and innocent, but you don't apply those words to them when/if they're in the pose Arcee's rocking. Same with babies.

It's the same pose:
This pose is cute and innocent, and its the same pose Arcee has.

megatronus wrote:You're free to think it's not sexualized, but Takara certainly made a choice when they decided to pose her, out of 100s of alternatives, and I personally think it's telling. No male TF would be posed that way. Just my opinion, here.

Not sure if you're trying to de-sexualize Arcee, or over-sexualize that baby, but either way, I'm having none of it.
Optimizzy wrote:The pose is sexualities because she's a "girl" bot. That's the point. It's not really a big deal, it's just annoying and a telling sign of the carefree sexism that exists in Japanese culture. I don't like to see it in transformers.
And yes, that pose of Airazor is sexist. Like completely.
It's fine for a female character to be sexy, it likely doesn't encapsulate their whole being.
The last pic of the other females fauning over star saber and then this one is telling to the mindset of the photographer.
it makes me cringe when I see it. Like fem-troopers or the 10000th sexy princess Leia drawing. It's old hat.
