william-james88 wrote:I have a question though. With all the modifications done to these 3 molds, are we to assume that the price of altering a mold is that much cheaper than making a new one from scratch?
Same. I didn't need color to convince me that they were greatEmerje wrote:Ordered mine as soon as they went up on AmiAmi before we even saw them colored.
Very interesting. Thanks for that factoidEmerje wrote:Back in the day the old line was that it was cheaper to make a new mold than to alter an existing mold so we didn't get a lot of stuff like this. These days the figures are designed on computers and steel molds can be cut by computers so it's faster and easier to make alterations like these than it was in the past. Makes sense, right? Fans have been using computers for years to make their 3D printed stuff.
william-james88 wrote:Here is a report quite a few of you were wondering (I am also posting it in the Legends thread): shipping price from Amiami.
I bought a lot of stuff to ship all at once and it seems the shipping price is a bit exponential depending on the size of your box/order.
If it is small, the difference between SAL and EMS can be half/double. It cost someone 10$ to ship 3 deluxes SAL and thats the same price it would cost to ship 1 deluxe EMS. But I was shipping 4 deluxes and a Superion set, which came out to 6,0154 Yen shipping SAL and 6,660 Yen EMS. So I picked EMS. That is very expensive shipping for SAL but it is quite reasonable for EMS which is the lightning fast way with tracking, and its the same cost or cheaper than it would have cost using BBTS's shipping to canada.

Emerje wrote:Sounds about right. I'm finally getting MP-10 thanks to the rerelease and he cost ¥4,420 to ship, though I suppose he's probably pretty heavy and only double what I paid to ship Star Saber unregistered SAL so it's really not all that bad at all.

I love Armada Shockwave's design. It's just too bad that the US release as Tidal Wave has terrible colors and the Micron Densetsu version is god awful expensive. And above that, there's very little chance we'll see an update version.

Do you mean the purple version? Checked ebay, (Tidalwave Takara version) costs from $ 40-$200 tops. The latter comes from a Taiwan seller.

Thanks, I checked too after seeing that pic and not finding the gallery for it. Unfortunately it doesn't have functional knee's so I will never buy it.

You and your knees...
Even if the knees are sideways, it's plenty enough. Don't get your OCD in the way of an amazing figure.
