my only comment is that at least if someone hadnt already got this version of Springer they have another opportunity. otherwise, im not too impressed.

I was gonna mention that. In Japan, toys dont get restocked often and if you miss on an opportunity when its released, you might not see it again. So this totally helps Japanese fans who didnt get a chance to get this incredible mold yet, and they no longer need to spend the bigger bucks importing the american version (it is more expensive to ship from US to Japan than from Japan to US). Takara has been doing this quite a bit lately and I am quite thankful for it. I wish hasbro could just release Prime Breakdown in some different deco just to get the mold out in retail.

I just figured it out! This Springer is such a loud color because he knows he is another redeco and he wants to sell, so he is making himself as noticeable as possible!!

I think the picture taken is to blame. Everything looks over-saturated in that take. The original solicitations showed much more mellow light and dark greens, and much paler olive-gray for the face, hands, and thighs. Takara usually does NOT get their colors wrong, so I'm not panicking just yet over one picture.

Same as with Hasbro v Takara Dragstrip- the Takara version looks hideous decked out almost entirely in yellow, whilst the Hasbro version breaks up the yellow with the crimson and avoids him looking like a cheese golem.

But it's the wrong greens, though. G1 Cartoon Springer was light and dark shades of olive green, with an extremely pale gray-green color for his face, hands, and thighs.



This Legends toy is radioactive florescent seafoam green and deep jade forest green, with barely any distinction between the ugly bright green of his body and the ugly bright green of his face/hands/thighs that makes his face blend in with the rest of his head. This is a very hideous attempt at the cartoon colors, getting all the wrong shades in the process.



The more normal-looking green of the original Hasbro and Takara Generations versions of this toy were much closer to the shade of light olive green used in the cartoon that this toy's radioactive garish green.



It's like whoever colored this toy had greatly misremembered what kind of greens Springer had in the cartoon and ended up making it look less like Cartoon Springer and more like... this:



And even that's not right either.

That would be fine if we did not already have the superior Hasbro product and paint.



And I can Garuntee it will look worse in hand.


It is certainly not worth the expense and import prices so excuse me but I got better things to do tonight like preorder Fallout 4 something actually worth more in value then a terribly painted Springer.

Not only that, but these photos show that this mold is not even close to G1 Cartoon Springer. Even if it was the right colours, I dont see the interest in getting him in a perfectly G1 accurateclour scheme. It will never look right since thats not the G1 cartoon springer. It's IDW Sprigner, and if its not too expensive I would much rather have the color scheme that was made for the mold.

*sighs* How quickly we forget. The top two pictures are both from the initial announcement and solicitations for Transformers Legends Springer. The bottom picture is the latest one released. Note the drastic inconsistencies in the colors portrayed among these photographs. Everyone needs to stop assuming Springer is going to turn out with awful neon colors and use a modicum of reason. This is not a new situation. We've seen this happen before, countless times. Seibertron himself will attest to the difficulty with getting some plastic and paint colors to photograph true to life. I'm assuming that the top picture above are the most indicative so far of what LG-19 Springer will look like. The quality of the second picture is lacking, and if the third picture is indeed a tweet or instagram photo from TFYuki, you can bet it was a rush job and not a professional photographing complete with post production editing to get the colors right.

We're in agreement here. I think the in-hand product will be much more muted in color. I really like it.
