Well, yeah, but come on, I said 'one of', it was so cool, he just had cannons attached to his abs, no one else that I can remember from G1 had that, so yeah, that always stuck with me
That and the blue horns seem to be the two things about this figure that strive for Headmaster cartoon-accuracy over toy-accuracy.william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote: I love that the TT version is so G1 toy accurate. All the way down to the red wheel in his chest and the red "doors" on his forearms
But what about the use of clear blue instead of turquoise that the toy has?

He doesn't work at takara though so he's in no position to say what takara do.

I read somewhere that Fortmax will come with his Mastersword. That's the big @ss one. Will Cerebros/Fortress come with the mini "key" sword too?
itscramtastic wrote:All of this dang Fortress Maximus stuff is just making me want a G1 Fortress Maximus. Dang it. Just to have alongside Legends/Titans Return comes out. Why you do Seibertronians?!
The Encore is still readily available from BBTS..

Give it a rest. Everyone can hypothesize what will happen and discussion points should not be shut down like this. If you don't agree with a hypothesis, give your counter and move on.

Thanks for the nudge WJ, let's see what else sells in the collection thread to see if he gets ordered! I still haven't spent over $200 on one bot yet..I'm not sure I want to traverse that slippery slopewilliam-james88 wrote:Sorry for those who know the story, bu here is what happened with me Cram. I was always curious of G1 Fort Max. He comes up alot when looking at the most iconic toys in the brand's history. It was also really cool that a toy considered a grail by many was available for less than 300$ (when people were paying close to 1000$ for a complete one just before a reissue was announced). But I wanted to see what an update would look like. The moment I saw this new fort max, I didnt think twice and just ordered the Encore. Here is why:itscramtastic wrote:All of this dang Fortress Maximus stuff is just making me want a G1 Fortress Maximus. Dang it. Just to have alongside Legends/Titans Return comes out. 1. It's its own mold and thus looks far more unique
3. He actually has ramps rather than aircraft landing strips, which totalyl hide his hands.
4. Comes with the 2 swords which even the original Hasbro release didnt have.
5. Way more weaponery, icluding the iconic waist cannons.
6. A more satisfying transformation from city to bot mode.
7. More playability and features like an elevator and 3 propulsion ramps.
8. More accessories, not only are there more guns but you actually get an extra figure out of partforming two vehicles.

9. An actual big beautiful city/fortress mode.
This new fort max is only superior to the original in terms of articulation in robot mode and thats it. If you play with your toys and want the best base mode ever, this toy doesnt hold a candle to the Encore. So my choice was to buy the encore at this amazing price and then get this new one at costco when its heavily discounted. Hasbro wants to half ass their only titan release of 2016 by making it a retool of an older figure, fine, but if they saved money making it, I dont see why I wouldnt save money when buying it.

He's $165 USD on one of those import sites you guys use..before shipping of course. I also was watching the footage from ToyFair and noticed that the FM on display had gray hands instead of blue..?

So for all those reasons and more, I didnt hesitate to buy the G1 since this one doesnt dethrone it in any way:

You the man WJ!! I feel like I've had the option to buy each of the SDCC items, but didn't have the cash at the time. This year I'll divert some funds in the weeks leading up to SDCC.william-james88 wrote:Shipping him to the states will still come out to over 200$ so you'll break your rule either way. And also because the shipping is so expensive, I dont think there is any advantage to any american buying it from a Japanese site instead of a local importer like BBTS. It will come out to pretty much the same cost and with the american sites, you have better recourse if something goes wrong.itscramtastic wrote:He's $165 USD on one of those import sites you guys use..before shipping of course. Ordering from Japan is more advantageous when it's a smaller item that doesnt cost much to ship, like any of the MPs. Those who bought MP Shockwave from Japan saved quite a bit of money.
Also, for anyone only wanting the Takara version for the swords, wait to see what the SDCC one looks like. Because it will be about the same cost for any US fans who could buy him off HTS after the con and at least in that case you are paying for the (hopefully) better deco and the exclusivity and not simply because it requires importing. That's one thing that sucks when importing a toy. You end up paying more but it's not because the toy is that much better, its just because he isnt sold in your region.
