The only part of Rewind I like more than the hasbro one is the stickers. Nightbeat doesn't do anything for me.

Yeah, and it's my hope that they announce the final 1987 Headmaster Scorponok as a Leader class by New York Comic Con to tide us over until the inevitable Titan release. Powermaster Optimus Prime needs his Marvel Comics rival.

Emerje

Don't expect Scorponok until after Trypticon, and don't expect Trypticon to be formally unveiled until Toy Fair 2017.

Baby steps... ugh.

Back to Rewind, Wheelie and Goshooter, what are the chances of TakaraTomy releasing a properly colored Siren/Loudmouth as a promotional giveaway? That would be ideal, as it's a throwback to a certain mail order item from back in G1, called Goshooter Siren. Basically the US toy released in Japan...

Or not, as Quig and Shuta Go are practically the same
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

He's a lot more likely to be Titan Class - not only is he much more well-remembered as the rival of Fort Max, but he was one of three Titan Class poll options. Plus after Trypticon he's the only cityformer left, and it'd be odd to have three of those be titans and not the last.

I can get behind the idea of leader-class Scorponok for the Titan Returns line. I don't know why Hasbro thought it would be a good idea to let fans decide the second titan-class figure in a headmaster centric line but here we are now. Plus, like Emerje (kind of) said, it would scale well with PM Prime for recreating Marvel comic goodness. I don't think if they did make a leader-class Scorponok they'd completely drop the idea for a titan-class one either. (And it would be a lot more likely to see a leader-class figure get repainted as Black Zarak and Double Punch too.)

I agree. I really like the attention to toy specific detail on hasbro's part, like the little arrows on his "skirt"

If Hasbro makes a Scorponok, it will be a titan class, they already have the designs done for him in the odd chance that he would have been next year's titan. You'll just have to wait a bit longer, but he will come around... as a titan.

Honestly, I do want a leader class Scorponok... but I also want a leader-class Fort Max. But just because those are my preferences doesn't mean that's what will happen; he's gonna be titan. A Scorponok that scales well with PM OP is not a priority - look at any Generations toy. Aside from like Straxus, I can't think of a single one that prioritises the Marvel comics before anything else. If there's gonna be a homage, it is much more likely to be the toys or the cartoon than the marvel comics.
Besides... there's never been a Scorponok toy that scales with Fort Max before. Aside from that Gigantic Action thing which doesn't transform and costs a small fortune.

It's not the second figure in the TR line, it's the fourth in the titan size class >:oP

Yes it's the 4th titan but it is going to be the second titan released under titans return.

Well, the designs for headmasters are now standardized, so it's not like we're not going to get him... a little headmaster love a couple years later down the line will do us all some good (like how we're taking a reprieve from combiners for now - it's good to mix it up) and besides, if we really wanted scorps that badly, he would've been voted for more >:oP

Like I said, I want a Leader class figure before the Titan. We don't know when that Titan is coming out, it could be after Trypticon and released in 2018, or it could be after Omega Supreme and released in 2019. That's a long time to wait for the Decepticon Headmasters to get their leader.

And is he better remembered as Fort Max's rival? I mean, they were in the cartoons, but their rivalry was pretty short lived in the Marvel Comics story all the way through Regeneration One, and non existent in the ongoing IDW story. To me his rivalry and alliance with Optimus Prime was much more iconic of him. Plus I really like the idea of having a smaller Scorponok that can fill his role as a Decepticon leader better than a Titan can.

Just to be clear, I want a Leader class Fort Max as well, IDW style or not.

It is possible that, similarly to how Metroplex was released as simply "Transformers" and not specifically Generations or Thrilling 30, Trypticon will get the same treatment and not be explicitly Titans Return, giving him a pass from complying to the headmaster gimmick. OR, he could be the outlier and allow Titan Master interaction in the form of riding, weapon posts, etc, but not forming the head.

My bet is that Full-Tilt will be a headmaster to fit in with Titans Return. And Metroplex was most certainly part of Thrilling 30 and Generations, just look at the box.

I don't have him or his box to consult. :P
But I can see from pictures that it had no "Generations" branding on the front and back, only the top and bottom, oddly. Thrilling 30 was there on the front and back, though. It's a bit odd. But my point remains: they could release Trypticon as a base bot, a character who can interact with the Titan Masters in every way except actually allowing them to form his head, which I think would be quite fine with everybody.

And I just realized this conversation would be more appropriate in the Titans Return thread.

He is better remembered as Fort Max's rival, yes. He was promoted as such all the time in the toyline, and that's not even getting into the popularity of Japan's The Headmasters. There aren't that many people that read the comics; and even then, you're talking about Scorponok's rivalry with a guy who wouldn't come out until a year after him. He was always established and remembered as Fort Max's rival whether one comic portrayed that or not.

Besides, if they done a Leader class toy they'd do a base mode rather than a city mode. And wouldn't a city mode be the whole point?

Indeed, if I remember correctly, there was some consternation as the general release of Metroplex and the SDCC release (or was it an Asia exclusive) counted as two different numbers in the Thrilling 30. This is one reason I do like the Takara Legends line. For OCD completionists like me, there are no duplicates. 8-}

But, this does bring up a thought in relation to Takara. I wonder if the Legends series is going to carry all the way through Trypticon, Scorponok, and Omega Supreme, provided we actually get the other two Titans mentioned... :-?

Alright, I'll concede that; but even then the Generation 1 fiction most people know him from - that being The Rebirth - does describe him as being built from a city.
And honestly, if Trypticon counts as a city - his city mode looking pretty much exactly like Scorponok's, which considering Fort Max is a retool of Metroplex, is starting to worry me in case Scorponok and Trypticon end up using the same mold somehow - then Scorponok imo counts.
Besides, it was a small part of the argument not really worth dwelling over. When he comes, he'll come as a titan and he's rather unlikely to get a leader toy before then imo. How many leader molds can we have with TR? We've got Powermaster OP, the Soundwave/Blaster mold, the leaked Sixshot/Greatshot and assumedly that Overlord teaser will be part of it too. I'm not seeing room for yet another leader in that assortment - and if he were, don't you think they would have teased him instead of Overlord, being a lot more relevant to a Headmasters-centric line than a Japanese-exclusive Powermaster?
Then again, I could be completely wrong and this will happen. I'd love it if it did; again, Leader is my preferred size for Scorponok and Fort Max, and I could always get that Toyworld Grant or whatever it's called to fill in for Fort Max. I just don't see it as very likely is all.

New Images of Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG30 Weirdwolf

Fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath has found some great new images of Takara's Transformers Legends LG30 Weirdwolf, courtesy of Dengeki Hobby.

We also included some photos of Hasbro's Wolfwire (yes, they are named differently) taken at Botcon for you to compare with. You will see that there are very few differences in the robot mode aside from the Titan Masters. Most differences are in wold mode with different colours found on the back, the head and the tail. Enjoy and let us know which version you plan on getting!

I can't quite see from the botcon images; but do Hasbro and Takara's weirdwolves share the same face?

Its differet. Hasbro has a thinner visor while takara has a connected shade like visor. But the bigger difference is the shape. Hasbro's is rounded at the top while Takara's is a block.
