Nah, that mold's on the small side, even for a Deluxe. The TR Cerebros/Legends Fortress mold is rather tall Deluxe, but smaller than a full sized Voyager.Decepticon Stryker wrote:Titanium series Rodimus might be that size. Classics or CW Optimus and MP-28 Hot Rodimus would fit the bill, I think.

Classics/Henkei Optimus Prime would probably be a better fit, CW Prime is pretty tall.

And he said no Hot Rod(imus).

I mean, Hot Rod and Rodimus are the same guy. And it's not exactly like they have any actual visual difference.

At that point, might as well go with MP Hot Rodimus. He's only Hot Rod in scale when looking at the MP line, he makes just as much a convincing Rodimus Prime for a classics collection.

Ya, sorry. I was thinking Fortress/Cerebros was a tad larger than a voyager. I miss remembered that he is a tad larger than a deluxe.

Actually titanium Rodimus is a little taller than the average deluxe. He's certainly taller than classics Rodimus and Arcee. I use him for my classics Rodimus and he fits in very nicely.

A much bigger TR/TL Galvatron helmet prototype which was said to be the basis of the initial CGI renders.

It's hard to go wrong either way, honestly. Hasbro's and Takara's versions of Weirdwolf are very close, with only minor differences in paint apps and head sculpts. I hope we get a repaint down the line, maybe as Cybertron Snarl?

Actually, used for the rumored Pounce I think he'll be. Only two changes, the wolf head and face he'd need.

In bot mode there really isn't a whole lot of difference outside of the head, but I prefer Hasbro's wolf mode with the added gray and blue which comes directly from the original figure.

The Legends version is too yellow for my taste.

Ah, good call. Perhaps a retooled Mindwipe as Wingspan? It might take a bit more extensive retooling to get the robot modes to really "match" though. Gotta be able to believe that they are "clones" of one another, unless Hasbro is just going to give up that conceit entirely. It would make it more difficult to differentiate the two on store shelves, since Hasbro packages their deluxes in robot mode now.

On Wingspan Hawk, my thoughts exactly. I don't think selling them will be much of a problem, as they're rumored to be in a box set. The Autobot Clones are rumored as such as well.

Both Weirdwolf figures looks great and this is one of the rare times I like the look of the Hasbro version better. His headsculpt just looks more, menacing I guess. Thanks for the comparison photos.

Curious with that prototype of TR Galvatron shown, but is the helmet part of the Titan Master sculpt or does it flip out of the chest like in the final version? I looks like it was more or less part of the Titan Master's sculpt to me.

It borrowed heavily from the Studio Ox artworks back in the late 80s. The middle horn is protruding unlike the final product and looks a lot bigger.
As for being part of the head or the actual body, there still is that panel on his chest. As to whether it is spring mounted, your guess is as good as mine.

The Titan Master still appears to be Nebulon, but the face almost looks like it's part of the separate mask/crown and isn't shaped like the one on Nebulon (doesn't have the angular cheeks and eyes seem softer). It could just be the lighting, but I wonder if they decided to scrap this method when none of the other planned Voyagers were like this and went with the simpler crown instead?

You meant Nucleon right? Wish the helmet part also covered a bit more of the sides of his head. What a wasted potential! The size should have been that of leader class. Galvatron never gets the respects he deserves

Oh, yeah, him.

Now that I look closer, the face isn't centered to the crown so I guess it isn't part of it. I wonder if maybe it just wasn't fitting well enough inside the chest so they had to go smaller?

I stil havent seen wave 2 around so it wouldnt surprise me if you have your takara Wierdwolf before I have my Hasbro one.
So did you find him yet?
Mine got here today!
First impressions:
* For some reason these guys always look smaller in-hand, and I already have Skullcruncher and Hardhead.
* Chock-full of small crisp details; I don't know how they do the small paint apps.
* Transformation is clever and original, all around but particularly impressed by how the torso contracts. And the fact that his arms have hinged panels that hide gaps, much like in Masterpieces and LG09 Brainstorm. Also, pretty cool that you can choose between robot and wolf feet.
* Unlike Skullcruncher, Weirdwolf's tail actually becomes a decent looking weapon! I dislike how Skull's tail is usable in robot mode. (I know about this.) Skull does have a good gun though. Wolf's gun sucks. I have the one from 87, it's a different colour, greyer, but otherwise fits him great.
* Wolf's partner drone is a lot more simplistic than Skull's. There's not much to it, just flip the nosecone over the monkey's head.
* Looking forward to Mindwipe. Want Apeface and Snapdragon.
