Mine arrived over the weekend and I'm struggling to get the shoulders tabbed in correctly in jet mode, which makes his Alt mode redundant.
I watched Optibotimus's review and he suggested that the shoulders were miss-assembled. However he was still able to get his shoulders tabbed in with a little force, I'm not even able to do that.

It's probably been discussed already, but anyone else surprised about the lack of a collector coin?

I've just been slacking on... well any thread that isn't a collection thread lately.
Yeah. I just assumed it had been discussed already.william-james88 wrote:No, not at all, but at the fact that it doesnt come with a coin. But all the other TakaraTomyMall exclusives have had coins no? Skywarp, Thundercracker, Clampdown. Hell, even the UW TTM exclusives (Grande Convoy). Weird eh?
There are QC issues with him, but THAT is a new one. The saving grace though is that you bought through BBTS. Best customer service I've ever encounteredSpikeyTigertron wrote:Opened mine up today, and the bottom vector thrusters (his feet) were missing... nothing but raw ball-sockets. E-Mailed BBTS asap... anyone else have any factory defects? I haven't noticed any issues with his shoulders per-see. The hinge on the front of the wings scare the bejubus out of me since it's on a fairly tight hinge connected to the un-modified wings (which would fold around for the regular seekers) making it really unstable. But he otherwise looks great!
We’ve heard the rumblings and we want our customers to know that TFSource has been working around the clock, partnering with Takara so that we could provide our customers with the most accurate and up to date news of Masterpiece MP-11NR Ramjet. There was an unforeseen customs delay beyond our control with our shipment, that has now been resolved and a small amount of our stock was just delivered to our warehouse today. Yay!
Upon receiving the good news we were informed by Takara that there is a wide-spread product defect with the toys’ shoulder that many of you may be aware of, but this QC defect is quite severe, in that it prevents the figure from transforming and the majority of the product currently on the market has this issue. Since this issue is so widespread Takara is making the rare decision to issue a full recall on all product in order to fix the problem, which is great news as we know our customers would not like to receive a defective product, especially one as impressive as this. This recall means that our shipment that has not arrived has been sent back to Takara to make the repairs. As of now the anticipated arrival is 2-3 weeks, TFSource will keep everyone update to date with a notification once product arrives. The good news is that enough product has been sent back to Takara to fill all outstanding preorders when it arrives, meaning all of our customers will receive a non-defective piece.
Please note that in order to repair each figure, the boxes will have to be opened and inspected. While we understand that sealed packaging is preferred by some customers we are offering the choice to ship now from a non-repaired piece from our warehouse to customers. Please note that if you do choose this option, TFSource will not accept defective returns on pieces we ship from the warehouse now as the defect affects the majority of products and this is true for all product currently on the market. If you’d like to choose this option please email Customercare@tfsource.com with your order number or email address on your stack account and we’ll be happy to make the change. If you prefer to wait for the non-defective piece, no action is required on your part.
Keep in mind that we have a limited amount of the non-corrected/defective product available now in our warehouse and it will be allocated in a first come first serve basis to those that reply to this email.
Thank you for your understanding.
Your Friends at TFSource!

The shoulder is a black "T" shape, but one side of the top of the "T" is longer than the other. This longer part is supposed to point toward the chest of the robot; many of them are switched (left to right shoulder and vice versa) so the longer part points towards the back of the robot. As a result, this longer part sticks out in airplane mode when it shouldn't. (It's imperceptible in robot mode, which is how Ramjet is packaged.)
Or so I understand. I don't recall where I found the photo of the problem, but I checked mine when it arrived and it was assembled correctly. It's not something that can be fixed with just a screwdriver, either, but if you're comfortable knocking pins out you could probably fix it yourself by switching the shoulder pieces.
Please note this item will be 'double-taped' due to additional quality control inspections performed, which verify that the shoulders are assembled correctly. This item is considered sealed/new (MISB).
Hi - We have received many inquiries as of late about the Takara MP-11NR Ramjet figure and we wanted to update you about this situation. We are not aware of any recall on this item. We have contacted our suppliers and they are not aware of any recall from Takara. BBTS certainly has not been contacted directly by Takara about a recall on this figure or about any other subjects.
It appears a small, but still meaningful percentage of the Ramjet figures do have a quality control issue with the shoulder assembly. This issue prevents the arms from easily tabbing in place in jet mode. We recently made the internal decision to open each MP-11NR box and visually inspect the figure (without opening the plastic tray) to make sure the shoulder assemblies were correct. We then slid the unopened plastic tray carefully back into the box and re-sealed the boxes. Our full order is accounted for and we felt this quick inspection and re-taping of already double or triple taped boxes was reasonable so that our customers could receive a correctly assembled product.
Any order shipped on April 11th or later has been quality checked and should be assembled correctly. A relatively small number of orders shipped out before April 11th and some of those may have improperly assembled shoulders. We will gladly exchange any misassembled figures for a new figure that has been quality checked. We apologize for any inconvenience associated with this situation, and we will evaluate each situation on a case by case basis and come to a solution that you are satisfied with.
