[Rodimus Prime]

Wow Rodimus. I had all my focus on toy and animation versions, I never even thought about the comics. I'd love to see photos of what you've done to model after the comics if you have pics handy. Cheers!

Me too. And comparisons with the comics originals. I never read any TF comics appart the first two issues of War Within. So I know nothing but I'm still curious.

Well, remember this is largely based on my headcanon. Here is Bruticus from the Marvel Comics:

And here's my attempt at copying him. Obviously not everything will match, but I tried to get it close. UW Cyclonus for the blue and gray body, G2 Vortex for the bluish-silver arm, Shuttle Blast Off for the other arm, and the CW figures of Brawl and Swindle as legs. I'll post my version of IDW Bruticus later. (I'm tired and need sleep and those figures are boxed up separately.)

So, was this Bruticus worth the EXTRA 60/70$CAN I had to pay just to be sure to get him? Well, unfortunately, no. Definitely not. If it weren't for that pandemic bullcrap, I could have went the normal EMS route, avoid the ultra expensive Mandarake DHL service, and save the custom fees because by normal postage, Mandarake is completely invisible to customs. Not so with DHL. Still, the guy came in barely FOUR DAYS since ordering, instead of being lock in some limbo like my other two Mandarake orders. So it's at least that.

Any reason you didnt get the Hasbro release? By the end of CW, Toysrus had these pretty good discounts so I got that veraion if the combaticons and then got shuttle blastoff on amazon.ca. I much preffer that deco since Takara went for an odd colour layout. Plys the attention to detail on the toy deco homage from Hasbro was pretty cool, especially on Vortex. With the inclusuon of their own shuttle blastoff, I'd say the Hasbro Bruticus is better than Takara's.

I stupidly, stupidly sold my CW Bruticus way back then for store credit at my geek shop. I also skipped on Shuttle Blast-Off when it was widely available at Amazon. Now with the going rates of that Blast-Off on Ebay, it was around the same price getting the UW version even when counting the extra costs.

There's also the fact that my combiner Obsessed friend got something new and unique with Megatronia... even though he have TWO Victorions. One custom copter body (that I made) with all copters members and another who is the normal one but with all cars. His Megatronia was 330$CAN total and my Bruticus was 230$CAN total. That was counting all costs.

Similarly priced compared to Ebay (roughly) but at least we have our toys in hands NOW. Because there's not just Japan Post "lockdowns" to deal with. Canada Post is operating like a brain dead zombie on top of that. It too 3 weeks to get a CANADIAN Ebay order. And I have one Mandarake box that arrived at Toronto at last after over a month.... and the delivery date for that package is still "undetermined".

It depends on what your likes/dislikes are. I by far prefer UW Bruticus for his animated series color scheme. Hasbro's Shuttle Blast Off came late, and was just a slight repaint, not enough to call it a whole new character worth purchasing. UW Bruticus IS the Bruticus of my Combiner collection. CW Blastoff and Vortex however are different enough to be different characters, so they are the Arms for my Grand Scourge combiner .

On a different note, I wonder how many people are gonna try making White Convoy Grand Prime now that he exists as a canon combiner configuration for Battle Core Optimus.

I would honestly preferred the CW colors just to be more accurate to my G1. However, the UW colors are very sexy. With my upcoming upgrade kit made for CW, I'll have an interesting mix in hand.

It's not like it's a difficult one to make, I'd have to use all Hasbro components, but it's not like they included Botcon Tigatron as a component (mercifully).

No, the Prowl, Streetwise, Groove, and Aerialbot HFGs are all the Takara versions.

I have him, and he is glorious.

After I got a red Prime at last from Carytheone, I put the red one in my Optimus Maximus, and now Battle Core Prime is the lone combiner torso without any limbs. and I like it that way, I love his regular Prime head

Me too. I have BC Optimus and Grand Scourge set aside as my two limb-less torsos so they can fight each other, Prime to Prime.

I never got any of the Takara combiner guys, but I did want that giant sword that came with Grand Scourge. I love the looks of that thing.

Prime could also just borrow my Lost Lightatron limbs and allow Cyclonus to be by himself, but I like that combiner too much to break it apart

My plan was to let him occasionally borrow Menasor's limbs. Though, G2 Menasor's limbs also better resemble the color schemes of Grand Scourge's original drones in Super Link.
