I've got them in cw dead end and neck brace's hand/foot things; I don't think they were tooled with properly measured anything. Their fists don't hold anything but the mufflers, the cw fist they come with doesn't fit any of their ports, and the fist itself can't hold anything, I forced it to hold the sword and stress marks appeared along the thumb joint area; streetwise has less, but similar problems, fortunately, prowl has fixed all of those issue (I believe, I can double check once I get home)

Wait so is Takaratomy's Quickslinger Slingshot? Interesting how they can get the trademark for it there.
Yeah, "Brake-Neck", sorry.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Seen this several times now. It's "Break-Neck" (or in Takara's toy's case, "Wildrider").Hellscream9999 wrote:neck brace

Different location, different availability. Plus, there's something else to consider: the script. I don't know how Japanese trademark laws work, but I do know they claim in native script (kanji and kana) but the latin script is optional, for Romanisation purposes. It's possible the English names aren't trademarked at all.
And sorry for being a spelling nazi, but it's "Brake-Neck", as in a parking brake.

Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'

So it IS a common issue! Them's the breaks I guess (barely 4 months since his delivery)

Nemesis Maximo wrote:Been playing with the Constructicons a bit since I got home. These guys are frikkin huge!
I don't understand some think they don't scale well with the rest of the line. If most construction vehicles are the same size as, say, a semi truck, then it would seem as though the scale is there. Just my two cents on an age old, never ending discussion.

No, you're pretty much on point with that sentiment

Those who bellyache either:
1. Don't know what they're talking about
2. Got stuck with the 3rd party not Devastar and can no longer purchase the officiial one
3. Got no cash to drop on it thanks to issue 2
4. Issue 1,2 and 3

Sabrblade wrote:And to answer the Quickslinger question, Takara's Quickslinger is just "Sling" (Slingshot's Japanese name).
Nemesis Maximo wrote:Okay, so Devastator is big. Like, obscene. I mean, in a good way, and I LOVE it, but it's definitely obscene.
I was worried about the color; a lot of the Takara stock photos depicted that yellowish green, and most of you know how I feel about the color yellow. I am indescribably relieved to look across my room and see a tasteful, stylish, non-fluorescent, limey neon green.
In fact, the only thing I don't like about him is his hands. Mixmaster's leg mode (including the foot) is even growing on me. And I can live without ball joints on necks. But his hands are so...basic. When a Unicron figure came out 15 years ago and still holds up against modern toy making standards, we should have fully articulated fingers on a toy this size.
But that's my only complaint.

Or 5, they prefer the fiction scale where the combiners are all about the same size, despite the logical size disparity of their components. Look, we all know there's no winning with TF scale, let's just let everybody have what works for them.
Speaking of which, I've decided I'm going to go ahead and get myself a UW Devastar next paycheck. All the hours I've put in at the movie theater during Star Wars madness should translate to a nice fat sum, so he'll be my belated Christmas gift to myself. I don't disparage those who prefer the Hasbro version, for price or ease of purchase or whatever. It's a perfectly good toy. But I like to fiddle with my guys, and the Takara version promises the best quality and fiddliness for the price.

I could of just got the Hasbro version and I would of been completely happy with it, but the extra Articulation, weapons and all the minor tweaks to the Constructicons just make this set so worth it.
