Takara no doubt has plans.... beyond UW-07 Bruticus. But it could go a number of directions...

You Have Sky Reign, Computron, Victorion, *supposedly* LioKaiser... Today being March 1st, and with the recent release of UW-05. I expect before the end of month to see some final production pics (perhaps in-hand or in package pics) of UW-06 Grand Galvatron & some hint of the next UW.

I recall reading something (I think was written by user Powered Convoy) that said that Bruticus's success will determine the fate of the UW line. Like, if Bruticus does well, more UW combiner sets may come. But if Bruticus doesn't meet expectations, then the UW line might not have much, if anything, left after Bruticus.

It would be nice to see the others get UW sets as well, but again, you never know. plus *if* Computron became UW-08, then you would end the series even with 4 Combiners for each faction, a nice way to end, also with *hopefully* a G1 toon accurate Head resculpt.

That's what has me puzzled a bit. Admittedly Liokaiser is my favorite of the combiners that appeared in the Japanese continuation of the original TF series. however when that CW Box Art popped up I thought it a bit odd it would come out in North America. Sure we got a Jagura Kreon, but nothing beyond that.

I would absolutely LOVE for either CW or UW to release Liokaiser. I think the toys by definition lend themselves to the idea very well. But...was there any confirmation beyond the boxart rumors?

It makes a pretty big difference since Grand Scourge is not a mainline toy. He is an exclusive and costs a pretty penny.

Liokaiser would not work in Japan. Not because the character isnt recognized by them but because what Hasbro has worked up wouldnt be good enough for takara. Because he is so iconic, turning him into an amalgomation of Liokaiser and Deathsaurus and reducing the number of individuals would be a major insult to fans. I think this is more of a case of the G2 stuff which arent being done in Japan either. Its just a box set reusing pre-existing molds. Takara has made it quite clear that they want all their combiners to be truly unique.

Anyways, those are the reasons I dont think Japan will see a Liokaiser. It would be poetic since we didnt get him last time. And the Die Hard japanese fans who are ok with this liokaiser homage could still get him through their local Hasbro importers like they are currently doing with G2 Superion.

Why dont you buy it? They went out of their way to make a deluxe groove and shuttle blastoff, they sure as hell arent compromising for the Unite Warriors line or else they would have released a jet blast off too. If they are that anal about their combiner in this line, then there is no way they would release this Liokaiser.

Sounds about right to me. Can't imagine Takara bending that much on Liokaiser with what they did with all the other combiners in Unite Warriors so far. The energon combiners was a different case to me since it was a differnt style combiner "setup" they had at the time and they didn't do the more complicated/varied ones then either. I have my pre-order in for UW Bruticus so I'm doing my part

Devastator is an amazing example of a 6 team combiner done right. I would love to see a Titan Class size Raiden ,Liokaiser, Landcross, & Dinoking (UW)/Monstructor(CW) but I know it will never happen.

I would love to see them done at a smaller scale, devs had too many corners cut for both the budget, and general stability, I think a team of 6 deluxe's would work for them

It wouldn't surprise me TOO much if Takara released Hasbro's interpretation of Liokaiser, with some improvements, or as a "USA Version" (they've done similar in the past). Or they may go super G1 and replace Deathsaurus with whoever is missing. We'll see. I doubt they'll skip it altogether.

It was said by both Hasbro and Takara that stability had nothing to do with it. Any issue one may have is entirely related to cost control and Hasbro is fine with us knowing that.

They are already skipping quite a bit. They arent releasing the G2 decos nor the Battle Core Torso. Takara seems to not want to do too many redecos. So my guess is we will get the Takaa version of the Skylynx mold once. It will be either as Skylynx or as Dethsaurus or something else, but not both. They will be skipping one version of this mold, I dont know which one though.
