Oh that goes without question for me. When all is said and done, this might be the best Combiner to come out of this entire line.

That's certainly the case for me, and I was never a real fan of Computron before this.

Agreed. Which is also a surprise.
I'll admit I didn't look close enough at first that the painted details on the chest are asymmetric and truly look like a variety of different tiny panels lighting up.
Small detail, but for me, that's freakin' cool.

The Fortmax mold is a fully Takara design not Hasbro. Hasbro was said to waffle at releasing him according to his designer. Only the head honcho of Takara TF branch encouraged him to go ahead with a big bad @ss of a fig. According to an excerpt in one of the Generationss mooks.

I just assumed he meant the new molds and hence why he excluded Brave max which was them bringing some G1 stuff back.

Indeed, when the first hint of Technobots was Hasbros Scattorshot and how very unchanged it was to Silverbolt, I hoped like hell TT would come along and save them.

And they did!

And save Scattershot they did. A new combiner head and a retooled chest. :x Just hope this version lays off the clear plastic parts for the joints (Afterburner no prob with the painted over canopy).

The hands and feet are easily fix, I'll just get the Hb versions. :HEADHURTS:

Absolutely.

Way back late this past summer I had to pump the brakes on getting UW Superion (although I already have the PE white hands and feet set) because some shizz went down and money was suddenly tight.
I could only get UW Menasor, who I like more as a character (and team).
But in the next couple months I'll get him, and was just thinking--
How cool is it that now Computron is so much more distinct from Superion!!
The head and chest sculpts...

Aren't y'all worried about the color match, or lack therein?

I think that's a valid point-- I wouldn't be okay with those, just because it doesn't look like they would match anything on the UW version.
Whereas the PE set looks like it will at least get close to matching Comp's head and parts of the torso (and maybe Lightspeed's spoiler).
Just looked again, the color doesn't look like it even matches much of the Hasbro version, other than maybe the lower ab/crotch area. But even that's difficult to see for sure.

Combiners have always been a mis-match of colours to me. If I wanted conformity I'd get Victorion. And I have one word for that.

BORING! :-P

By the way, I wasn't meaning to completely change the thread topic pages back...
But bringing up the idea of other combiners being made isn't too far off anyway considering it's very likely this trend would/will continue that TT will make slight (or major) changes if and when other combiner teams are released.
In fact, it's probably more related than we think, because I'd bet whenever new combiners are made, there will be a definite conscious effort to keep the figures of the teams almost the exact same size as what we've been getting in these current lines.
They wouldn't go smaller (at least that doesn't make sense to me), and to go bigger would be a major financial issue.

I agree with whoever said the current molds just wouldn't work for those characters of Seacons or Terrorcons. But having said that, I do wonder if to re-use molds (and obviously save some $$$$) we'd see a Predaking that is NOT Titan Class-- just re-tooled molds from those other teams' characters, which should be easier since they're all in the "beast realm".

I think the main reason I even thought to bring all this up is because the UW Computron has me thinking that there is a lot that's possible now, and this figure has me excited because we're finally getting some stuff that has never received proper updating.
Computron doesn't seem to have the biggest fan following, and so all of this effort into giving us a quality set has me hopeful that more lesser-known (and less popular) combiners will be made in the somewhat near future.

Nope. You are no straying too far. But when it comes to the JP market, TT knows how to repackage stuff to fanwank the G1 crowd (me included  )

As for the Terrorcons? Anything is possible. Though maximizing certain molds seems to be the main thrust of both Hb and TT. That's for sure. Given how far ahead we are in toy tech engineering, maybe we might see some beastformers on the opposite side of the Pacific by 2017

While I quit collecting this line after getting Bruticus. I have to say its nice to see them finally give the hands and feet the right treatment. If they offered them as a separate set to match all the previous pairings I would pick them up.

Both look good, I would almost like to swap a few character from each to get it just right in color.

That sure is a lot of guns.
I really like the remolding done on Afterburner's guns even if it probably was just for the combined super gun thingy. It's a little hard to tell but does it look to anyone else like Strafe's vehicle mode guns come off?

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath and our favorite Twitter user TFYuki we now have color images of all the individual Technobots that combine to form Computron! Released before the Hasbro images, these give us a great idea how our beloved Computron will turn out, and the paint work does not fail to impress. Check out the images mirrored below, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your latest Transformers News and Galleries!

I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

There's got to be something else that can be done with Afterburner's windscreen. That wheel sticking up behind his head instead of behind his back is going to drive me crazy otherwise.

Yeah, but then Afterburner's windscreen turns into an umbrella, which really isn't an improvement.
