I just noticed both Starscream and Skywarp have a new style of body trim whereas Thundercracker is the only one to retain his G1 stripes. How odd.
It's not odd. They are created for different series.
Starscream and Skywarp (very nice) were created for Classics, with the usual improvements, plus a more creative paintjob. The basic goal is to mimic the cartoon closely, plus a measure of realism.
Thundercracker (not so nice) was created for BotCon Exclusives. It was made to look like G1.
honestly the Botcon Thundercracker looks the best, IMO...

I agree.
skywarp-2 wrote:here is the one big plus about Takara doing this... if they decide to release all the seekers, coneheads included... and in G-1 style but slightly modified from the Botcon stuff...
They will be released in Mass and 300 times cheaper then the damned Botcon exclusives!!!!
Bonger wrote:Well, I wouldn't hold my breath on the botcon exclusives being released inJapan.
However, I would not be shocked to hear ofa limited run Sunstorm or ghost SS.

but that's not the case.
Sing the song of the BotCon rereleases girls!
"Not gonna happen, No, Not gonna happen!"
Really guys.
Hasbro & FunPub said flat out, these won't be anywhere other than the 07' release.
Don't go getting a bunch of false hopes. It's not like this horse hasn't been beaten to death.
Beaten some more.
Burried.
dug up and sodomized
then beaten some more.

They've been soaking in Reissues and Encores for far too long.
Aww poor them, soaking in enroes, reissues, ehoobys, MPs.....
But yes, lol, except that any collector there has already probably imported these from the US.
Now, they can get them in local shops. In large quantities!
Ohayo gazaimazu!
This is great news, but ouch these prices are going to hurt. These inflated prices seem to be in line with the prices that Takara charged for the movie toys. The movie toys were made in Canada and imported into Japan. I'm guessing the same thing will happen with the Classics.
Made in Canada? Darn! How come US Movie toys are made in China?
I got one Japanese Movie toy. How come he's made in China too?
As well as all my original Takara Binaltechs. All made in China.
I haven't had a TF toy yet that is NOT made in China.

You know what's great about this discussion... those who did purchase the funpub exclusives would be very pissed and kicking themselves in their own arse for paying out the wazzoo for buying those exclusives, especially if takara tomy decides to do the Thundercracker and other Botcon repainted exclusives.. do you not feel their anger already, and we don't even know if it's possible yet, we're just hoping it comes true...I feel that Takara Tomy has a right to produce likenesses of the seekers that they also own the rights to and if they have bought the molds from Hasbro, they are in their right in their own country to produce them...
fear the possibility of that!!! It may be wishful thinking for us to expect takara Tomy to make them, but it's also fearful and hatred thinking for those who oppose it simply because their precious, "expensive" exclusives, would be reduced in value due to the ability to import a Possible Takara Tomy Version... But thats something that should have been considered for the Botcon releases especially because they went and decided to do characters that should have had a wide release like Thundercracker...
If thundercracker ends up being released by Takara Tomy, for 20.00 I'll be very happy..![]()
and to those who bought the funpub at an expensive price.....

Just last week you were talking about how Classics weren't worth while...
And as for 'the hate', please, allow me.
Thrust's wings are the exclusive property of FunPub. He will never eeeeeeeeeeever see the light of retail.
Also, I paid $280 for the toys. At the very worst, that's $56 per toy. I got to go to an incredible convention, scored the finest exclusives ever, and met the best bunch of Transformers fans ever. The truth is, I paid nothing for the toys. The $280 alone was worth every bit of fun, comradery, food, meeting Peter Cullen, meeting David Kaye, and rocking out with Stan Bush.
Free classics seekers was just a bonus.![]()
Team Hate, signing off.
Counterpunch wrote:All things considered, I'll be interested to see if they actually attempt something like this.
Even if they do, all joking aside, Thrust is out entirely. There's no way unless Takara molds their own wings. That's just not happening though.
Thundercracker and Dirge could possibly be done...maybe. I just really doubt it. They were really certain at the Con that no further releases of these guys would happen.
Seibertron wrote:Give it up guys ... convention exclusives are convention exclusives. The BotCon Seekers won't be released in Japan unless they're released as a convention exclusive. Japanese convention exclusives have never been released at retail here in the States and US convention exclusives have never been released at retail in Japan. It would be bad business to start that practice.

True in as far as it goes boss, but convention exclusives in the past have pretty much been obscure characters, new characters or 'what if' versions. The Seekers using the Classics moulds don't fit into any of those categories. While I realise that it wasn't a convention exclusive the example of the red Excillion was sited a few pages back. The original GF version was limited to something like 50 if I'm remembering that right and Hasbro managed to put out a similar version at retail. I just don't see how the Hasbro/FunPub deal can limit what Tomy can produce in the way of toys intended for the Asian market.
Oh, and Skywarp-2, you're generalising again. I have the Botcon set, I'm in the UK so I payed extra for the shipping and didn't get a convention out of it and I would still support a Tomy release for the benefit of those who can't stump up the sort of money that the Botcon versions are selling for.
On the issue of Thrust's wings the mould is in all liklihood owned by Tomy since FunPub source their toys directly from them and sell them under license from Hasbro in the US. The moulds used for short run exclusives aren't designed to stand up to production run quantities however, so the mould couldn't be used for a potential Tomy release on those grounds. If it hasn't been destroyed it's probably only got another thousand or so uses before the casting quality degrades below acceptable standards. So if Thrust were to happen new wings would be needed.
