It cant be, MP 09 is as big as Optimus and thus would reach Magnus at the same height as Optimus. it doesnt. This figure is ultra sized, the size of Ironhide. Makes sense, it's only 1500 Yen less since it comes with far less accessories.

Just a few things:

1) I called the 180 arm transformation way back on page 2 or something like that.

2) Even with the color pics don't be sure the figure is 100% transformed right until we get in hand pics from people who read instructions and have common sense.

3) You want a really good MP Roddy? Try the Kabaya kit

I'm going to wait until we get some proper comparison shots for an accurate idea of MP-28's scale, but I am intrigued that he might be taller than originally thought. If indeed he's only about 1.5 cm below the upcoming MP-29 Shockwave, what makes up for the vast difference in price between the two? Rumored electronics in Shockwave?

TF fan TCO has uploaded some pictures from an upcoming Japanese magazine onto the TFW forum which features the new Masterpiece Hot Rod at angles we have never seen before. Below you will get an idea of his abdominal articulation as well as the mechanism for his goggles and, most important of all, a clue to the transformation through an undercarriage shot. Does this sell you more on this guy, or less? Let us know in the discussion!

Eh, doesn't bother me so much. Given that it's an alt-mode that doesn't exactly have a real-world parallel, the '-in Disguise' part of the undercarriage doesn't seem so important on principle.

These pictures settle it, this figure is a definite pass. It's not the worst figure I've ever seen, but certainly not worth the MP price tag it comes with.

With an undercarriage like that he's a total pass for me. A good look undercarriage is what makes or breaks a figure for me.

Well, like most other Masterpiece collectors I display my transformers facing the wall in bot mode and alt mode figures with their wheels in the air so this would ruin my display....I don't know what else to do but not buy it.

That kind of thing doesn't bother me, so this has still got my interest. Actually on reflection it looks like his G1 toy undercarriage! So if anything that's a plus, right?

Now bring on the springer and arcee masterpieces.

People who post screenshots of the photos they take (as opposed to the actual photos) should be removed from the gene pool.

While I did post that shot that compares other undercarriage, I totally get why this is a different case (and wrote so above). I have no problem with how this part looks, it makes perfect sense (I also dont care about how the RID figures look like under). And I am super surprised that this is what people might get bugged about when there is much worse.

Take a look at this and tell me if you see what I see:

These pics portray a really small waist which makes the robot look really weird when posed. And that I find is the biggest detractment of an MP figure. These figures are made to recreate the G1 show/movie look as close as possible so these are the figures that we'd use to recreate classic scenes and poses. And that huge upper body atop that tiny waist just doesnt work when posing him in any way aside from standing straight. No pose using the waist swivel seems to work so far. It looks bad, really really bad :SICK:

. I will be waiting for reviews and Seibertron's gallery to see if this can be salvaged.

Also, what is up with the orange flap and the red chest here, are they telling us that they are 2 different pieces, I dont get it.

yes, I noticed that as well. Just one of the many, many flaws this figure seems to have. Every single photo I see of it, just screams lazy to me. Is it the worst figure ever made? No, of course not. For $80, however, I expect a whole hell of a lot more out of my money
